WOW: President Trump PUMMELS Steve Bannon

Steve Bannon played himself up well with his association with Donald Trump.

Admittedly, I was curious why Trump chose Bannon. I had met Steve twice and didn’t see the draw.

On TBS, I chronicled my second encounter with Steve, where I questioned his Conservative creds. I will write about that encounter in more depth soon. Suffice it to say, I pegged Bannon as a left-leaning moderate. So when Trump chose him to help on the campaign, I questioned Trump a bit more.

Sometimes, you can have too much information. And in this case Trump was “guilty by association”. However, in light of recent developments, I see that Trump figured Bannon out quickly. Thus, Trump banished Bannon.

Recently Bannon made news with what I consider another career-limiting move. As NBC documented,

Steve Bannon said a June 2016 Trump Tower meeting between the president’s eldest son and a Russian lawyer was “treasonous” and “unpatriotic,” The Guardian reported Wednesday.

President Donald Trump‘s former chief strategist made his comments in an interview with author Michael Wolff for a book out next week, the newspaper said.

“Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad, and I happen to think it’s all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately,” Bannon told Wolff, adding an expletive.

Bannon’s comments appear in “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” which is based on more than 200 interviews with the president and members of his staff. The book will be published Jan. 9 by Henry Holt.

“They’re going to crack Don Junior like an egg on national TV,” Bannon predicts.

That’s not how you should sell books.

In fact, that’s how sellouts sell books.

President Trump fired back on Bannon. And it doesn’t get any more scathing than this. Trump told Bannon in no uncertain terms to butt out of his affairs.

“He’s only in it for himself,” Trump said in an official statement, adding that Bannon has “lost his mind.”

If Vegas hold odds on this, I put my money on President Trump.

Are things not going well at Breitbart? I suspect now that Bannon was kicked out of GOP Heaven, Breitbart likely took a hit.

I know Bannon has been the belle of the ball, since I’ve seen him hit the speaking circuit. In my 8+ years at this, I rarely saw Bannon speak. However, after leaving the Trump administration he was everywhere. And I know Breitbart experienced a Renaissance of sorts.

In short, Bannon and Breitbart were winning. As we said of the Dixie Chicks, “Shut up and sing!”.

While in New York City at an event, I saw Bannon and we shook hands. He was very busy receiving almost rock star treatment. Shortly thereafter, somebody contacted me to tell me they wanted me to be a low-level speaker where Bannon was keynote. I never take such things personally. The same thing happened to me about six years ago with Glenn Beck. Remember him.

So again, Bannon is in demand. And now the book makes him lose his religion?

Regardless, this doesn’t end well for Bannon. Not only will his brand suffer, but so will the brand of an amazing man, one of my political mentors, Andrew Breitbart.
