EPIC FAIL: Democrats TRAP THEMSELVES in Gun-Control Scheme
Leftist love their gun-control narrative. And they will try just about anything to get Americans’ guns.
Recently, several democrats colluded to illustrate the failures of gun control. So, they crafted a study meant to expose illicit online gun sales. Their predicted outcome would expose how easy it is to buy guns online, ergo a gun loophole. Unfortunately for the Left, as with most of their devious plans this one failed.
The Taskforce
The masterminds who commissioned the gun control experiment included Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., as well as Sens. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii. Clearly, each of these representatives have plenty of issues they should be addressing right now.
Instead, they set up games. Anybody remember the game called Fast and Furious?
Fast and Furious is the name given to an operation whereby Obama’s trouble-makers sent arms to Mexican banditos with the hope they create so much havoc in Mexico, the U.S. would be forced to allow in illegals.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz said Friday that the Obama administration has turned over documents related to the “Fast and Furious” operation.
The House voted in 2012 to hold then-Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt for refusing to turn over documents tied to the botched gun-running sting — a discredited operation that had become a sharp point of contention between Democrats and Republicans.
Chaffetz said the committee is still seeking additional records.
“Today, under court order, DOJ turned over some of the subpoenaed documents,” Chaffetz, a Utah Republican, said in a statement. “The committee, however, is entitled to the full range of documents for which it brought this lawsuit. Accordingly, we have appealed the District Court’s ruling in order to secure those additional documents.”
As part of its long-running investigation into the operation, the House Oversight Committee subpoenaed documents from the administration. But the White House declined to provide them, claiming some of the materials are protected under Obama’s executive privilege. After a legal fight over the issue, a federal court ordered the administration in January to hand over the documents, and on Friday, the committee received thousands of pages related to the operation.
“The department believes the information being provided to the committee, along with material previously disclosed, fully satisfies the committee’s interest in understanding the department’s response to congressional inquiries regarding Operation Fast and Furious,” the Department of Justice said in a statement late Friday afternoon.
The media wants us to believe that Fast and Furious is a “gun-walking” operation that allowed roughly 2,000 guns into Mexico with the goal of tracking them to Mexican drug cartels. Interesting, when you consider that in order to walk the weapons in, you are likely violating the country’s gun laws.
The New Gun-Grab Ploy
Democrats set up a sting operation to prove how easy it is to buy guns illegally online.So, Cummings, Warren and Schatz commissioned the Government Accountability Office to determine how online private dealers might sell guns to people prohibited from owning firearms.
As Fox News explains:
Their efforts were based on a 2016 report from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The report claims the “anonymity of the internet makes it an ideal means for prohibited individuals to obtain illegal firearms.”
“Congressional requesters asked that GAO access the extent to which ATF is enforcing existing laws and investigate whether online private sellers sell firearms to people who are not allowed or eligible to possess a firearm,” the GAO report said.
Over the course of the two-and-a-half year investigation, agents tried to buy firearms illegally on the “Surface Web” and the “Dark Web,” generally by sharing their status as “prohibited individuals” or trying to buy across state lines.
But the GAO revealed that their 72 attempts outside of the dark web were all “unsuccessful.”
“Private sellers on Surface Web gun forums and in classified ads were unwilling to sell a firearm to our agents that self-identified as being prohibited from possessing a firearm,” the GAO reported, noting that in their “72 attempts … 56 sellers refused to complete a transaction once we revealed that either the shipping address was across state lines or that we were prohibited by law from owning firearms.” In the other cases, the investigators’ website was frozen or they encountered suspected scammers.
On the dark web, GAO agents successfully purchased two guns illegally, as the serial numbers on the weapons were “obliterated” and “shipped across state lines.” But in the attempt to purchase, the GAO agents “did not disclose any information indicating they were prohibited from possessing a firearm.”

If only Obama were still president and Eric Holder Attorney General, then the Democrats could have gotten away with their evil plan!
Based on the findings, the GAO doesn’t even have a list of recommendations. What’s worse, none of the stooges were available to discuss this epic fail. You certainly won’t see the media touting this epic fail.
Guns don’t kill people. But unscrupulous Leftists do.
