Dominoes Falling: Lisa Page and Jim Baker RESIGN from FBI
The dominoes continue to fall, though not quite the way Americans want just yet.
With the ruling by the federal judge that exposed the Mueller “investigation” as the farce that it is, rats have again began jumping ship.
Two more Comey cronies have jumped from the sinking FBI ship, as the corruption within the organization continues to surface.
As CNN reported,
Two FBI officials who have faced scrutiny in recent months resigned from the bureau on Friday, sources familiar with their departures have confirmed to CNN.
Lisa Page, who served as an FBI lawyer and close adviser to former Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, voluntarily resigned Friday, a source close to Page told CNN.
Page came under increasing attack after her text messages with FBI special agent Peter Strzok criticizing President Donald Trump came to light last winter. She briefly served on special counsel Robert Mueller’s team last summer before returning to her duties at the FBI.
The text messages between Strzok and her became fodder for the President and Republican lawmakers who leveled accusations that some members of the FBI working on the Russia probe are biased against Trump.
James A. Baker, the former general counsel for the FBI and one of former FBI Director James Comey’s closest advisers, also resigned Friday, according to a source familiar with Baker’s departure. A second source familiar with Baker’s thinking said his departure was unrelated to Page’s resignation and that hers came as a surprise to him.
As for Page, she’s in serious hot water.
Although the FBI slow-walked the investigation of her emails, what has been discovered is enough to put her in prison. But more awaits.
While the FBI went “gangsta” on President Trump’s lawyer to get info on things unrelated to the Mueller investigation, the bureau hasn’t acted on information directly related to the matter. As The Daily Caller reported:
The FBI says it has not requested information from the personal email accounts of Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, the two bureau officials who exchanged anti-President Donald Trump text messages while working on the investigation into possible Trump campaign collusion with Russia.
The disclosure was made in a letter sent May 2 to Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Grassley, a Republican, questioned why the bureau has not sought Strzok and Page’s personal email records, noting they referred to using private email accounts to conduct government-related business.
“FBI has not requested from Ms. Page or Mr. Strzok any information from their personal email accounts, nor has the FBI conducted searches of non-FBI issued communications devices or non-FBI email accounts associated with Mr. Strzok or Ms. Page,” Charles A. Thorley, the acting assistant director at the FBI’s office of congressional affairs, wrote to Grassley.
Needless to say, there is more to come as the nation gets a glimpse of the treachery of James Comey’s FBI, and it’s attempt to depose President Trump.
As for Baker, the article mentions his new job.
Baker will be going to Lawfare, a national security blog affiliated with the Brookings Institution. He was tapped as the FBI’s top lawyer in January 2014, but was reassigned from his post as general counsel elsewhere in the agency last year.
I suspect there is much more to Baker’s resignation.
I base my comments on those made by Jim Comey, who has tendency to tell us who the swamp rats are in his glowing recommendations:
Comey said in a statement on Friday, “Jim Baker represents the best of the Department of Justice and the FBI. He has protected the country and the rule of law throughout his career and leaves an inspiring legacy of service. He is what we should all hope our kids become, a person of integrity.”
There’s that word again: integrity.
The man who wrote the book, Higher Loyalty, represents the lowest loyalty in America. Comey is a disgrace, and history will see it this way. Luckily, that history won’t take long.
Expect more “resignations” from the FBI, as more is uncovered. Shortly thereafter, expect indictments. I believe there remain honorable people in the FBI, and they have seen enough.
