Who is the latest publicity-seeker using President Trump to get back in the spotlight?
Well, it’s not formerly pro-Trump Snoop Dogg who decided to “kill Trump” while dropping a new CD. Nor is it formerly pro-Trump Eminem, who tried same stunt when he needed attention on his new album.
This time the culprit is none other than 2015 Woman of the Year. That’s the former man, born Bruce Jenner turned Caitlyn Jenner.
As if anybody gives a crap about his-turned-her opinion, Jenner wrote an opinion piece for The Washington Post about Trump.
Recall that Jenner shocked the world in his conversion to a “woman”, then doubly shocked the world by declaring she was a Republican.
Jenner lauded Trump as the first Republican presidential candidate to claim to back “this valuable, vulnerable community.”
“Despite the criticism I received from segments of the LGBTQ community for engaging with this administration, I remained hopeful for positive change,” Jenner wrote. “Sadly, I was wrong.”
“The leader of our nation has shown no regard for an already marginalized and struggling community,” Jenner wrote. “He has ignored our humanity…insulted our dignity. He has made trans people into political pawns as he whips up animus against us in an attempt to energize the most right-wing segment of his party… This is politics at its worst. It is unacceptable, it is upsetting, and it has deeply, personally hurt me.”
Why is Jenner so butt-hurt (pun intended)?
The Trump administration is considering legislation that narrows the legal definition of gender. The new requirements would identify individuals as male or female based on their biological traits at birth.
According to the report, 1.4 million Americans recognize themselves as transgender.
“Believing that I could work with Trump and his administration to support our community was a mistake,” Jenner wrote. “I do not support Trump. I must learn from my mistakes and move forward.”
Jenner knows that Trump’s potential legislation has nothing to do with dehumanizing the “trans” community. The fact that this community has tried to redefine humanity insults American sensibilities.
Separate bathrooms, and other demands being made for one’s choice of sexuality is ridiculous. The administration recognizes how far this gender versus sexuality discussion has gone. Thus, they have decided to put an end to it.
Frankly, I suspect Jenner seeks publicity.
When “Caitlyn” first appeared, she reminded me of Obama, and not just in her sexuality.
She was the belle of the ball. Her story dominated the news, as the LGBTQ movement got that not-needed shot in the arm. One of America’s most masculine men had been “turned out”. A male ICON was now part of the LGBTQ movement. What a coup.
Surely ALL men would need to reconsider their sexuality, and there would be a mass exodus of true “he-men” converting, right?
Uh, no.
Even with the help of his-turned-her smoking hot step-daughters and daughter, Caitlyn’s impact on he-men proved minimal, if at all.
President Trump rightly concerns himself with the majority of Americans in his legislative efforts. No longer will small groups of people have such a big microphone with respect to policy.
The transgender deserve to be treated with respect. But they deserve nothing more than that afforded any other citizen of America.
