President Donald Trump is officially a political genius.
And he just unleashed that genius on Democrats who want an invasion of illegals.
Here’s how the Democrats began with checkers as Trump played chess.
Democrats set the Central American invaders in motion to test President Trump. He responded as he campaigned. Thus, America would be protected against invaders.
As the migrants invaders added to their numbers and approached America, Trump did what no other president had done, nor what any would have done–he beefed up border security.
Trump resisted political pressure, even with the midterms looming.
The media lied, showing invaders supposedly poised at the border. Then Trump tweeted the real truth, and show the razor-wire fencing he ordered the military to install. Did I forget to mention that Trump deployed the military to protect our border?
For those keeping score: Trump 3, Leftist 0.
We were told more and more migrant hoards were coming, numbers increasing by thousands with each group. Democrats claimed these migrants wanted asylum, yet they passed over asylum in Mexico.
Speaking of Mexico, one of their governors said his city couldn’t manage the numbers. He and many citizens wanted the migrants gone.
Back to Trump’s genius and the art of the deal.
First, the president threatened to close the border. But it what happens next that showcase true political chess.
As the Chicago Tribune reports,
The Trump administration has won the support of Mexico’s incoming government for a plan to remake U.S. border policy by requiring asylum seekers to wait in Mexico while their claims move through U.S. courts, according to Mexican officials and senior members of President-elect Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s transition team.
President Donald Trump briefly described the arrangement in a pair of tweets Saturday evening. “Migrants at the Southern Border will not be allowed into the United States until their claims are individually approved in court,” Trump wrote. “No ‘Releasing’ into the U.S….All will stay in Mexico.”
The president then issued a threat. “If for any reason it becomes necessary, we will CLOSE our Southern Border. There is no way that the United States will, after decades of abuse, put up with this costly and dangerous situation anymore!” Trump wrote.
Earlier in the day, White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said in a statement that “President Trump has developed a strong relationship with the incoming Lopez Obrador Administration, and we look forward to working with them on a wide range of issues.”
Who knows what this means for sure, but I will speculate.
If I know President Trump the way I think I do, he made Mexico an offer than can’t refuse.
Understand that Mexico depends on the U.S. in a major way. So the U.S. can disrupt the Mexican economy with ease. President Trump would be crazy not to use the recent trade agreements and his understanding of economics as the carrot for Mexico to work with us.
We are merely talking about a technicality, when you consider one side of the border versus another side.
The article explains,
The agreement would break with long-standing asylum rules and place a formidable barrier in the path of Central American migrants attempting to reach the United States and escape poverty and violence. By reaching the accord, the Trump administration has also overcome Mexico’s historic reticence to deepen cooperation with the United States on an issue widely seen here as America’s problem.
According to outlines of the plan, known as Remain in Mexico, asylum applicants at the border will have to stay in Mexico while their cases are processed, potentially ending the system, which Trump decries as “catch and release,” that has generally allowed those seeking refuge to wait on safer U.S. soil.
To put this simply, there is no catch and release in Mexico.
What these invaders seeks is entrance into the U.S. After that, all bets are off for us to see them again. Such has been the system for decades; a system encouraged by Leftists.
That system may soon be over, and Trump declares, “Two moves to checkmate!”
Trump has moved the battle to the Mexican side of the border. With this new development, Trump can play the waiting game.
It’s only money. And that’s what Democrat now complain about. As if Democrats ever cared about the cost of anything.
I’m sure Trump couldn’t care less. It’s not about money; it’s about the security of American citizens.
One move to checkmate.
President Trump has one more weapon he’s reserving. If pushed, he will declare protecting the border a matter of national security. Checkmate.
