I love Dennis Prager, because he’s an amazing thinker. However, recently he got it wrong.
Prager predicted that 2019 would be what he called, a “dark year”. Prager wrote:
Thanks to the left’s control of the House of Representatives and the news media, Americans will be kept in a fevered state throughout 2019 — with innumerable hearings, exposes, criminal investigations and possible indictments of those around the president and the president himself. Truth will not be the point. Defamation will. Anything that might muddy the president, no matter how spurious, no matter how thin the evidence, will be pursued with gusto. The media will drop “bombshell” after “bombshell.” If lives and careers are ruined, so much the better; no one should be associating with this president anyway, as far as the left is concerned. The Robert Mueller investigation into alleged “collusion” between the Trump campaign and the Russian government — which has led to guilty pleas and imprisonment of people around President Trump for offenses having nothing to do with such collusion — is a preview of what lies ahead.
Everything Prager foresees as problems for Trump, has already begun spinning back on Democrats. And what’s worse for Democrats is, based on polls, nobody believes their attack-dog media.
Every one of these problems present potential triumphs for President Trump.

The goal of the left to weaken, disable and impeach the president is the heart of its mission to undo the 2016 presidential election. If the Republicans had done anything comparable during the Obama administration, the Democrats and the media would not only have charged Republicans with racism — as they labeled all criticism of Barack Obama — they would have howled “fascism.” And, for once, they wouldn’t have been far from the truth. The misuse of government institutions for political ends is indeed a fascist tactic. But because most media serve as the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party, there will be no protest from the media, only support.
Obvious double-standard aside, Democrats offer three things to combat Trump: retread, retread, and more retread.
The Left tried every one of these tactics during the election and since. The outcome: Trump prevailed.
Moreover, Trump continues to roll.
What Prager and many others fail to consider is (1) how tough Trump is, and (2) how resilient Trump is.
What Trump will do in 2019 is DESTROY the Left. And they know it.
Take for example, Ruth Bader Ginsberg. They made a movie about her. But Leftists are not-so-secretly pissed at RBG. She overstayed her time. The Hill published this after confirmation of Gorsuch:
The confirmation of Neil Gorsuch to the United States Supreme Court represents a huge political victory for Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who gambled on blocking the nomination of Merrick Garland in the hopes of a GOP electoral victory.
It may also have been an equally huge loss for the of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who ignored increasing calls for her retirement during the Obama administration to avoid the prospect of the flipping of her seat from a liberal to a conservative member. That gamble — whatever calculation — could now cost a sweeping number of key cases hanging by a 5-4 margin, including much of the precedent built around Roe v. Wade, if not an outright overturning of that decision.
Democrats hate that Ginsburg didn’t hang up her dancing shoes during the Era of Obama. Most believed that she would retire once Hillary Clinton was elected. Do I really need to tell you how much the fix was in that the now 86 year old feeble Justice Ginsburg waited to retire on the first female president?
And now the outspoken critic of President Trump awaits the executioner of us all, her tenure to end in the Era of Trump.
So winning back the House provides a temporary respite for Democrats, at best. Because Trump’s restructuring of the courts establishes a much more profound legacy.
But there is more Trump will do in 2019, like continuing his assault on fake news.
2019 will usher in the Year of the Reveals. Consider 2018 as a cliffhanger for Democrats. They will meet their demise when all is revealed about Mueller. The two-year investigation that will net lots of Democrat crooks.
Democrats underestimated Trump in 2016, and that hubris continues. Trump brings real intelligence and savvy to politics. And while he avoid using Machiavellian tactics against the Left, he knows how to counter them.
So President Trump methodically dismantles the Deep State. And the swamp rats worry incessantly, as they must.
Consider all the dots that must stay connected to sell the lies that Comey and Mueller are honest men? And that Obama knew nothing of the attempted coup of Trump? That Hillary Clinton’s team had nothing to do with the fake Russian narrative?
Behind the scenes, Democrats crack. Many provide evidence against their former regime. DC knows how to read the tea leaves. So when people realized that Trump could hold the Senate and will undoubtedly be president again in 2020, they start covering their bases.
Put another way, the realization that Hillary Clinton would never be president, balanced with the inability of the Obama administration to destroy Trump opened many eyes.
Spoiler alert for Democrats: Mueller’s report will yield absolutely nothing against Trump. But it will indict Democrats. Even if one tiny Democrat head gets axed, that will be enough for Trump to demolish them. Because Trump is his own force of nature. The Obama administration couldn’t destroy him, nor could his media partners.
Further, the media can no longer effectively cover up for Democrats. In 2019 as the scandals erupt, the media has but one choice to survive: cover the real news.
2019 offers another guarantee. Democrats will overstep.
Whether it’s the calls for impeachment of a man who gave America its best economy since the Great Depression, or the calls of racism, sexism, etcism, Democrats will push too far.
They’ve already overstepped. But 2019 will highlight those misstep into donkey dung. But there’s no cleaning off their shoes.
