Leftists are so hungry for a big win against President Trump, they will believe anything. And they got snookered.
Being truthful, when Leftists read almost anything from their news sources, they are being snookered. But that’s another story. In this case, the fake news bandits actually set up a similar site to the real fake news version of the Washington Post.
According to Politico, the impostor WaPo site had Trump blinking on the shutdown:
Fake editions of The Washington Post circulated across Washington on Wednesday, falsely claiming that President Donald Trump had stepped down.
The impostor publication, dated May 1, 2019, featured an extra large headline: “UNPRESIDENTED,” and went on to state, “Trump hastily departs White House, ending crisis.” A fake website designed to look like the Washington Post’s website carried similar language.
You know Leftists all over DC were celebrating after reading this. I can only imagine how fast this news traveled, as Democrats thought Trump cracked.
I only wish I had been there are these Leftist clowns realized they had been duped.

“There are fake print editions of The Washington Post being distributed around downtown DC, and we are aware of a website attempting to mimic The Post’s,” the Post’s PR account tweeted. “They are not Post products, and we are looking into this.”
Honestly, I’m surprised WaPo bothered to “look[ing] into this”, given their modus operandi. WaPo is Jeff Bezo’s wet dream to destroy Trump. So they rag mostly prints what they “want” in politics and not what is actually happening. Thus, to have a sister publication merely stating what WaPo and other Leftists would love to see is par for the course.
Frankly, I surprised Jeff Bezos didn’t just buy the impostor site and roll it into the existing fake news WaPo to avoid all the hoopla.

Other headlines on the fake website read, “Celebrations break out worldwide as Trump era ends” and, “From #MeToo to ‘You’re Fired.'”
Talk about pushing all the hot buttons of Leftism. The idea that the #MeToo movement could get Trump to resign should have been a huge tip-off that these stories were fake. But not when you are a rabid Leftist in search of reasons to believe your own nonsense.
I’m not sure who the culprit is in this game of Punked. But I like his/her/ze/zi style. Certainly the person (or whatever it professes to be) has a sense of humor and knows how to excite a Leftist audience.
I see a new TV show, similar to the Masked Singer. Who is this masked DC marauder, triggering Leftists?
How will this story play out?
Of course there must be an investigation. And Special Counsel Robert “I’m with Her!” Mueller will need to look into the Russian involvement in the 2020 election.
Next, we will learn of a “dossier”, written by somebody British. Because their English is so much better than our, and thus more believable.
Leaks will offer that the creator of the impostor site is one of the Trump kids, or an in-law. And that person will be said to have met with a Russian lawyer to discuss how to infiltrate the Kirsten Gillibrand campaign for president.
Former CIA Director Brennan will declare that Donald Trump is a threat to the Republic, and he will be back by Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. They will both testify before the Pelosi-controlled House to the authenticity of the information disclosed, including the site.
Mueller will issue his report on the culprit, post-Presidential Election of 2020. In that report, the site owner will be revealed.
