What happens when the Fake News gets it right?
Well, even an idiot is right once in a while.
I’m sure Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi are crying in their Cheerios now that CNN backed Trump’s claims. Thursday, Jim Acosta set out to prove we don’t need a border wall. Instead, he did the opposite.
As Fox News explains:
CNN’s Jim Acosta was mocked across social media on Thursday for posting a video that was meant to downplay President Trump’s claims of a border crisis — but ended up supporting his argument that border barriers improve security.
“Here are some of the steel slats that the president’s been talking about,” Acosta said while reporting from the southern border. “But as we’re walking along here, we’re not seeing any kind of imminent danger.”
The CNN reporter added, “There are no migrants trying to rush toward this fence.”
I found some steel slats down on the border. But I don’t see anything resembling a national emergency situation.. at least not in the McAllen TX area of the border where Trump will be today. pic.twitter.com/KRoLdszLUu

And the replies were priceless!

It’s tranquil because there’s a fence

When you do stories like this you mock the memories of the Americans murdered by criminal aliens. You’re far more disgusting than anyone thought possible.

There is no crisis there because there’s a wall genius…the crisis is where there is no wall

Thanks for proving @POTUS correct #wallswork #BuildTheWall slats = barrier = WALL

This one just might be my favorite!
Jim, thank you for highlighting the effectiveness of the border barrier!! Given the prevalence and severity of TDS it takes real courage to go against the Dem party and your network’s messaging that barriers don’t work. Well done!

One day we’ll look back and remember that time Jim Acosta tried proving that the American border doesn’t need a wall by showing how safe the part of the American border that already has a wall is

Even leftists realized Jim’s mistake.
@Acosta I feel so sorry for my hubby tonight because you just gave me a headache for being sooooooo ……..#maga

I feel the same. I’m not really in favor of a wall, but to go to the area where there’s a wall and say, “see, no national emergency” is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. How in the world is anyone so stupid, even Acosta, to think that proves his point. It does the OPPOSITE!

Epic Fail
So maybe the term “epic fail” is over-used on the internet. But, this is the best instance of revenge backfiring that I’ve ever seen!
We all know Trump doesn’t care much for Acosta. And the feeling is definitely mutual. It’s only been a couple of months since Acosta lost his White House Press Pass. Of course, he got it back, begrudgingly. And Trump promised he will lose those privileges again, as soon as the court order expires. Eventually, the White House will demand that CNN replace Acosta, at least when it comes to matters of White House press briefs. Acosta knows his days are numbered, which is exactly why he was banking on making a fool out of Trump.
Clearly, Acosta isn’t a worthy opponent of Trump’s. And if Jim thought he was jabbing the president today, he sort of put himself in checkmate. But that’s what happens when you go up against Donald Trump. You lose. And this time, Trump didn’t even lift a finger for the victory.
