Donald Trump stays at least three steps ahead of Democrats. And he’s done it again.
With the border wall issue looming, where does the president plan his first rally of 2019? In El Paso, Texas.
Democrats targeted Texas a few years back, attempting to turn the state blue. Then they spent mega-millions trying to obtain an upset victory by Beto O’Rourke over Ted Cruz. Fortunately, they failed. However they came dangerously close, something that shocks most Conservatives.
So President Trump now takes the fight to Texas.
He understands what’s happening, and plans to secure the border, Cruz’s senate seat, and the demise of Democrats, all for the long-haul.
As The Hill reported,
President Trump‘s campaign on Wednesday announced that he will hold his first rally of 2019 in El Paso, Texas, next week.
The rally, scheduled for Monday, comes amid ongoing negotiations between Trump and congressional Democrats as the president tries to secure more than $5 billion in funding for his long-promised border wall.
The location of the event is notable. El Paso sits right on the U.S.-Mexico border and was referenced by Trump on Tuesday night in his State of the Union address as he sought to make the case for the border wall.
“The border city of El Paso, Texas, used to have extremely high rates of violent crime — one of the highest in the country, and considered one of our nation’s most dangerous cities,” Trump said. “Now, with a powerful barrier in place, El Paso is one of our safest cities.”
The rally will be Trump’s seventh in Texas since he announced his candidacy for president in 2015, though it will be his first in El Paso.
“As the President continues his fight to secure the border, there’s no better place to demonstrate that walls work than in El Paso,” Michael Glassner, the chief operating officer of the Trump campaign, said in a statement.
Timing is Everything
The timing of this rally is no accident. In fact, it’s very purposeful. Every day another Democrat tosses their hat into the ring for the 2020 election. We know Kamala Harris, Corey Booker and Elizabeth Warren plan to run. Further, Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden and Michelle Obama are rumored to have campaign fantasies brewing.
Of course none of these people intimidate the President. And neither does Beto. However, after his crushing defeat, many Beto fans suggest he might run for President as well. Thus, what better way could there be to drive home Trump’s point on border security?
El Paso is O’Rourke’s hometown. There, citizens have first hand knowledge regarding the serious need for border security.
El Paso is directly across the Mexican border from Jaurez, one of the most dangerous cities in the world. Yet, El Paso crime rates are relatively low in comparison. Ironically enough, El Paso has border fencing to derail illegal immigration and drug smuggling.
Meanwhile, Laredo, Texas faces a dangerous situation.
Just last week, we reported the story of the famed gang member known as El Tory. Military intelligence considers this man one of the most dangerous and powerful members of the Los Zetas Cartel. People say he has more than 45 murders to his credit, and at least 14 of those are decapitations.
After murdering one man, El Tory stole his dead body from a funeral home and put his decapitated head in an ice chest. El Tory dedicated himself to killing off anyone who annoys him. And the brutality of his crimes is hard to outdo.
Yet, bribery and crooked officials managed to free El Tory from prison, where he was serving time for an attack against the American Consulate in Monterrey. So not only is he dangerous, but he’s also ‘connected’ to important people. Now, this guy is standing across our border in Neuvo Laredo glaring at us. I can’t say what his plans are, but he’s living large and in-charge with a past that indicates his plans will be gruesome, at the very least.
But according to Democrats, the need for border security is greatly exaggerated. Of course, I don’t see Nancy Pelosi looking to buy a house in Laredo. Why would she want to put her life in danger? Especially just to prove she was right the first time- when she voted to build a wall. Or a fence, a barrier, whatever you want to call it.
Numbers Don’t Lie
Even during the government shutdown, polls verified that most Americans want border security. And in the past, democrats bragged about their contributions to the effort.
In fact, liberal university students were recently appalled by the following quotes, when they believed Trump made them.
“Illegal Immigration is wrong, plain and simple. Until the American people are convinced we will stop future flows of illegal immigration, we will make no progress.” – Schumer, 2009
“We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented and unchecked” – Obama, 2005
“I voted numerous times when I was a senator to spend money to build a barrier to try to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in. And I do think you have to control your borders.” – Clinton, 2015
But now, Democrats go as far as to say “there is no crisis.” And Beto is among those seriously misguided souls. During his campaign for the Senate, O’Rourke claimed the border is already secure. Further, he says a wall will ensure death.
Beto’s good looks may be reminiscent of Robert Kennedy, but they’re not enough to overcome the pure stupidity he projects. Which is exactly why Trump’s seventh trip to Texas will take him straight to O’Rourke’s stomping grounds.
Campaign 2020 isn’t officially rolling yet, but it’s never too early to squash an opponent.
