Another Fail: Beto’s Version “Green New Deal”

The punchlines are still rolling out after Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez presented her “Green New Deal” to the world.

In fact, AOC was hit hard with bipartisan WTF. So what makes Beto think he can do any better?

Apparently, he doesn’t mind joining AOC as the butt of every joke on the internet. In fact, his version comes with a $5T price tag and a goal of reaching net zero carbon emission by 2050.

Apparently, he’s hoping his Kennedy-esque good looks and passionate speeches will be enough to pull the wool over voter’s eyes.

“The greatest threat we face — which will test our country, our democracy, every single one of us — is climate change. We have one last chance to unleash the ingenuity and political will of hundreds of millions of Americans to meet this moment before it’s too late,” O’Rourke warned while unveiling his proposal.

Fox News elaborates:

O’Rourke’s plan – his first major policy rollout since launching his presidential campaign in mid-March – calls for “mobilizing” $5 trillion over 10 years to transform the nation’s aging infrastructure and spur innovation to help communities lead the fight against climate change. O’Rourke’s campaign calls the price tag the “single largest investment in fighting climate change in history.”

According to a proposal released by his campaign, O’Rourke would leverage $500 billion “in annual government procurement to decarbonize across all sectors.”

The candidate says he’ll pay the bill for his plan with $1.5 trillion from “revenues generated by structural changes to the tax code that ensure corporations and the wealthiest among us pay their fair share and that we finally end the tens of billions of dollars of tax breaks currently given to fossil fuel companies,” according to his campaign’s release.

The proposals also calls for executive actions on the his first day in the White House to “start cutting pollution across all sectors of the U.S. economy,” and working with Congress to produce a “legally enforceable standard” to make sure the U.S. achieves net-zero emissions by 2050 — and getting halfway toward that goal by the end of the next decade.

O’Rourke also promises to take “significant actions” to defend communities deal with fires, floods, droughts, hurricanes and other threats spurred by climate change.

Republicans, though, dismissed the proposal as a costly bid to “impress” coastal elites.

“Beto’s $5 trillion in new government spending is strictly designed to impress his chardonnay swilling coastal elite friends. The fact is the money has to come from someone and taxpayers across the country are not going to foot the bill for Beto’s crazy plans,” Republican National Committee spokesperson Mandi Merritt said in a statement.

Serving Up Leftism

Beto seems oblivious to the fact that things aren’t looking good for his campaign. He’s polling low among democrats in a field crowded with losers. It’s one thing to pale in comparison to Donald Trump. It’s quite another when you can’t pull ahead of Creepy Joe.

However, despite his lackluster performance, Beto is sticking to classic leftism on his platform. From the get-go, he endorsed the Green New Deal. And he topped it off with incredibly costly programs for increasing welfare and government health care.

Of course, people like Beto feed voters the warm and fuzzy ideas of “giving everyone everything” without truly explaining how to pay for all that.

New Deal Failure

Sadly, AOC is unable to separate herself from the Green New Deal. And recently, she decided to address her opponents.

According to Real Clear Politics:

On Instagram Live Wednesday night, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spoke to critics who laugh and make jokes about her often-repeated statement that “we have twelve years left to cut emissions by at least 50%” to stop the most devastating effects of climate change.

“For everyone who wants to make a joke about that, you may laugh, but your grandkids will not,” she warned. “So, understand that the internet documents everything.”

Of course it does, Sweetie. That’s why conservatives aren’t afraid. We’re still laughing at Al Gore’s alarming predictions.

According to Al

In 2006, Gore warned us that in just a decade, we would face certain doom.

Many predictions made by Gore and other scientists flopped. And as early as the 1970s, climate change should have been seen for what it was: a political scam.

The 1975 Newsweek article entitled “The Cooling World,” claimed Earth’s temperature had been plunging for decades because of human activity. That article actually suggested we try to melt the Arctic Ice Cap with black soot. In fact, Obama’s ‘science czar’ John Holdren was one of the top global cooling believers. Ironically, he predicted that over-population and starvation would lead to a new Ice Age.

By Holdren’s predictions, millions of people were going to die by 2020 in carbon-dioxide induced famines of this new Ice Age.

People forgot about the global cooling of the ’70s and the Ice Age that never happened.

But that’s not the only climate theory that is a total bust.

As The Blaze pointed out:

In 2007 Gore predicted that the summer Arctic ice in the North Pole would completely disappear by 2013 due to global warming caused by carbon dioxide emissions.

Of course it didn’t happen either. But Gore refuses to admit the error of his thinking. In fact, he continues to defend his predictions.

He also claimed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa would lose it’s snow-pack by 2016. But that also hasn’t happened. In fact, it’s not even close.

But, just as AOC warns, we still have the internet to remind us of Gore’s environmental emergencies.

Following Obama’s Footsteps

Climate change is a money maker. In fact, Obama and his minions hid more than $77 billion in climate change funds.

In 2013, the Congressional Research Service concluded 18 agencies had climate-related activities. One of Trump’s biggest challenges is identifying those hidden funds and putting them to better use.

Meanwhile, every claim Al Gore made is steadily dismantled. And as entertaining as that is, it makes me wonder why democrats can’t ditch this debacle already.

Sadly, AOC’s Green New Deal is backed by many of the 2020 Democratic presidential contenders, even after it failed to pass the Senate. I have a feeling these candidates are lining up to support it because they’re too scared to admit this aspect of leftism is completely nonsensical.

Instead, liberals are doubling down. O’Rourke went as far as stating, “not to be dramatic, but literally, the future of the world depends on us right now here where we are.” He’s right, the future does depend on us, which is exactly why Trump will take a win in 2020 again.
