Fox News Won’t Discuss Muslim Reaction to Notre Dame

But I did manage to catch some of their coverage of the Notre Dame fire. This is because guests at my house were interested, and so was I.

I’m guessing I watched about three shows and heard from eight pundits. Not a single show presented the Muslim reaction about this burning of the iconic Catholic church.

While speculation is in some circles that Muslims may have done it. I certainly raised the question myself, as any normal person would. Speculation doesn’t condemn the group of people, but merely raising an educated query.

To not suspect Muslim terrorist(s) had nothing to do with it would mean you are lying to yourself. Those who didn’t mention that possibility out loud certainly thought it. Even if they only speculated that other people would be thinking it. So to ignore that possibility is crappy journalism.

But as I mentioned earlier, many Muslims celebrated the tragedy. This fact was completely ignored by Fox News, as well as other so-called Leftists outlets. While I’m not surprised that MSNBC, CNN, and other fake news outlets ignored the Muslim angle, I figured Fox News would at least present the idea. But they didn’t.

In fact, a Fox News on-air interview about the Notre Dame fire in Paris was abruptly shut down.

Philippe Karsenty, a former French political candidate and guest of the show suggested that the fire might not be an accident.

“It’s like a 9/11, it’s a French 9/11, you know? And it’s a big shock…we’ve had churches desecrated each and every week all over France.”

Karsenty added,

“Of course, you will hear the story of the political correctness which will tell you it’s probably an accident.”

Smith interjected his rebuke:

“Sir, we’re not going to speculate here of the cause of something which we don’t know. If you have observations or you know something, we would love to hear it.”

Karsenty explained:

“I’m just telling you something, what we need to be ready,”

However Smith interrupted him again.

“No, sir, we’re not doing that here, not now, not on my watch,” Smith said. “The man on the phone with us has absolutely no information of any kind about the origin of this fire and neither do I.”

“The fire investigators will at some point come to a determination about what caused this and conspiracy theories about anything are worthless and in many cases counterproductive and injurious to society,” Smith added. “And those who entertain them are not acting in the best interests of the people of this planet.”

At this point Karsenty is gone. Producers were in Smith’s ear saying the “guest” was gone and that Smith needed to vamp until commercial.

Such is Fox News. Politically-correct and not the Conservative news channel most think it to be. In Fox’ defense, they claim to be “fair and balanced”. But to not even allow the idea that this could be a terror attack. Moreover, to not discuss the Muslim world’s reaction?

Do you think Fox News would have reported the reaction of Americans had a mosque been burned and Americans mocked it?
