Much to the chagrin of Leftist Democrats, President Trump’s economy proves how woeful Barack Obama performed in the same role.
While Leftists love to claim President Trump received a robust economy from Obama, the facts prove differently.
Obama himself said the economy couldn’t grow faster than an average of 2 percent GDP, a figure Trump promptly doubled. Trump achieved this with two natural disasters that hit Houston Texas and Puerto Rico.
Obama declared manufacturing jobs gone in America. He told us to get used to that. President Trump proved Obama to be an economic clown, as Trump promptly returned manufacturing jobs back to America.
From the very beginning of his presidency, Trump spurred the economy forward. He began immediately breaking records, and not just with the stock markets.
According to The Daily Caller, the president now has a new record of sorts:
The total number of workers claiming unemployment insurance fell to the lowest level in 50 years, the Department of Labor reported Thursday.
The number of applications claiming unemployment insurance benefits dropped by 10,000, bringing the number of applicants to 202,000, the lowest recorded number since Dec. 6, 1969, when the U.S. workforce and population were much smaller than they are today, the Department of Labor (DOL) report said.
The number is a positive sign for the economy as it implies fewer people face unemployment in the U.S.
The total number of people claiming unemployment benefits in the U.S. has continued to decline since President Donald Trump took office.
Understand that the previous administration bragged about the number of people ON unemployment. Their rationale was that America’s system was able to support record numbers of unemployed.
Think of the philosophy it takes to celebrate people NOT working? Such was the Obama administration. They literally seemed to be trying to figure out how to break the system. In fact, at one point Obama added over 16 million people to the “bread lines”.
Newsweek reported in July of 2017,
The number of Americans receiving benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), commonly referred to as food stamps, continues to drop, according to the latest numbers released by the United States Department of Agriculture, which oversees the program.
As of July 7, 42.6 million Americans were receiving SNAP benefits during the current fiscal year, down from 44.2 million in 2016. The 2017 figure is the lowest since 2010, when 40.3 million people were on food stamps. The number peaked in 2013, at 47.6 million.
Understand America, Trump reduced these numbers from Day One he entered the Oval Office. In sharp contrast to Obama, President Trump takes pride in seeing these numbers go down.
Admittedly, the numbers began dropping at the end of Obama’s reign of terror. As FactCheck.org report:
Enrollment went down by 1.35 million from January 2017, when Trump took office, to December 2017. Those stats according to the most recent monthly figures from the USDA, which administers SNAP.
By comparison, enrollment declined by 1.88 million over the same time period in 2016 when Obama was president, from 44,852,347 in January 2016 to 42,969,079 in December 2016. However there is more to these numbers.
What FactCheck doesn’t report is that Obama printed over $8 trillion of phony money. Trump doesn’t rely on quantitative easing, as his recovery is real. Moreover, President Trump must account for the counterfeiting by Obama.
Also, what FactCheck fails to mention is the number of people who dropped off unemployment, then filed for disability.
As The Baltimore Sun reported in March of 2013:
Those of you paying attention have noticed that the Obama administration is actually doing what it promised: transforming America into a gigantic welfare state. And there are plenty of takers willing to cash in on it and “get mine.” Numbers don’t lie. Forty percent of the population was on some form of public assistance when the president took office; today, that number stands at 55 percent. And fraud is rampant.
“Exhibit A” is the Social Security Disability Insurance program (SSDI), a classic Washington entitlement that chews up tax dollars while (often) negligently providing for unqualified beneficiaries, an increasing number of whom are wont to remain on the public dole for … well, forever if they don’t get caught.
Make no mistake — rapid growth, lax standards and an increased cultural acceptance of long-term nanny state benefits pushed SSDI into big fiscal trouble.
President Trump noted the grifters established under Obama. So 45 ended the gravy train. Leftist immediately attacked:
The past week’s news proves that if the Trump administration isn’t able to undermine Americans’ earned benefits in one way, it will find another. That’s exactly what happened when the president issued an executive order changing the way federal administrative law judges (ALJs) are selected. What sounds like an inside Washington procedural issue will affect millions of Social Security disability claimants and their families.
Most of the government’s 1,900 ALJs are assigned to adjudicate Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) claims. President Trump has loosened the standards for appointing ALJs in a manner that makes it easier for the administration to appoint less qualified, but more politically loyal judges. As the Washington Post explains:
“[ALJs] would be selected by agency heads without first being vetted by the Office of Personnel Management as was the procedure. That makes the process more vulnerable to politicization.” – Washington Post.
The president of the Association of Administrative Law Judges told the news site Government Executive that the executive order is a blatant attempt to politicize the civil service that will hurt disabled Americans:
“They could hire candidates who have a certain view of claims under the disability provisions of the Social Security Act, and that the view perhaps would be that claims ought to be denied . . . If I were an American citizen, I would be very concerned that I am no longer guaranteed an independent, impartial administrative law judge to adjudicate my claim against a federal agency.” – Marilyn Zahm, AALJ president.
So President Trump plugged a serious leak, offering meaningful jobs versus scams.
Further, Trump continues to obtain 7-figure drops in SNAP enrollment. However, Obama had one year when people jumped off SNAP and onto SSDI. Hardly a sustainable solution.
Yet again Trump proves his policies work now and for the long haul.
