Breaking: Sarah Huckabee Sanders Leaving White House

Trump broke the news on Twitter today.

The White House Press Secretary is ready to leave her position.

Personally, I’m sad to see her go. Sanders is one tough woman. She’s smart, witty, and handles the press like nobody’s business. But I have a feeling, this story is ‘to be continued.’

According to Fox News:

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders will be leaving her position at the end of the month.

“After 3 1/2 years, our wonderful Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be leaving the White House at the end of the month and going home to the Great State of Arkansas,” Trump said. “She is a very special person with extraordinary talents, who has done an incredible job! I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas – she would be fantastic. Sarah, thank you for a job well done!”

The president has not yet named a replacement for the position.

Trump’s announcement came moments before he made remarks at a White House event on its “Second Chance” program boosting hiring of criminals who have served their sentences.

“We’ve been through a lot together and she’s tough, but she’s good,” Trump said at the event Thursday.

Sanders Highlights

Sanders brought a new level of grit to the role of Press Secretary. Few have served so admirably under such stressful circumstances. I was trying to pin down my favorite rant from Sarah, and I came across this “best of” compilation.

Ironically, it was made two years ago. And still, we are arguing over the exact same issues. Was there collusion between Trump and Russia to take Hillary out?

No one mastered the media smackdown quite the way Sanders does it.

Sadly, the war waged against Donald Trump takes its toll. And we’ve certainly seen more than one member of the administration step aside. However, I don’t think stress got the best of Sanders. I think she’s got something else up her sleeve.

Pay attention to Trump’s parting sentiments. “I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas – she would be fantastic.” That sounds like a raving endorsement if I’ve ever heard one.

Fond Farewell

Clearly, Sanders and Trump aren’t parting on bad terms. In fact, according to Sanders, serving the president was the “honor of a lifetime.” Further, Sanders “couldn’t be prouder” of the administration’s work.

Fox continues:

“I’ve loved every minute, even the hard minutes,” Sanders said at the event, calling her role the “most special experience” of her life second only to being a mom of three.

Sanders later tweeted saying she is “blessed and forever grateful to @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to serve and proud of everything he’s accomplished. I love the President and my job. The most important job I’ll ever have is being a mom to my kids and it’s time for us to go home. Thank you Mr. President!”

Her Father’s Footsteps

I think it’s entirely reasonable to believe Sanders will aim to follow in her father’s footsteps. The governor’s seat will open up in 2022.  Meanwhile, you can bank on Sanders to continue to defend the Trump Administration.

Fox continues:

“I’m going to continue to be one of the most outspoken and loyal supporters of the president and his agenda and I know he’s going to have an incredible six more years and get a lot more done,” Sanders said.

Huckabee also tweeted about the news of Sander’s departure, taking the opportunity to praise his daughter calling her “a great one” and joking that he says that “with as much objectivity as Fake News CNN has towards @POTUS.”
