Googles Unchecked Power is More Dangerous than the Russians

Sure, we can all agree social media interferes in our daily lives. We tune out of family dinners to scroll Facebook. Then we post a status instead of calling a friend. But did you ever consider that Google, Facebook, or YouTube could be guilty of election interference?

Conservatives already figured out that social media is an institution of leftism. We are constantly shadowbanned, or put in “Facebook jail.”

Recently, Kevin Jackson penned an article about the left’s biggest hoax, climate change.

Thus, Facebook retaliated with a notice of “Fake News.”

For months, the conservative crackdown on Facebook has plagued us, alongside most of our peers. Ironically, the same media outlets accusing Trump of interfering with a free press do everything they can to keep conservatives quiet.

And now we learn the social media giants are a much bigger threat that liberals painted Russians to be.

Consider this testimony regarding Google and Facebook in relation to the 2016 election. A former Google executive spilled the beans.

Dr. Robert Epstein made several points crystal clear. First, he’s not a Republican or a conservative. Further, he supported Hillary Clinton. And most importantly, social media influenced as many as

In fact, Epstein testified that Google’s manipulation of votes gave Hillary an additional 2.6M votes. As Ted Cruz put it, “through bias and search results, Google manipulates voters in a way they’re not aware of.”

Epstein added, “I believe in democracy; I believe in fair elections, more than any allegiance to any particular candidate or party.” So when a staunch liberal steps up and says ‘this just isn’t right,’ people should pay attention.

Epstein went on to say a staggering 15M votes could be shifted by Facebook, Google, YouTube and big tech in 2020. And they wouldn’t leave a paper trail for authorities to trace.

Cruz’ Crusade

Senator Ted Cruz is on a mission to squash the censorship social media uses to silence conservatives.

Cruz warns, “Google is a monopoly. Google may well be the most powerful company on the face of the planet because they have a monopoly on information, on what you know and what I know. And not only that, but Google owns YouTube, which is the second most popular website on the face of the planet. And the problem is, they use monopoly powers to silence voices they don’t like.”

The Washington Examiner adds:

“‘This is a staggering amount of power to ban speech, manipulate search results, destroy rivals, and shape culture,’ Cruz said. Cruz’s statement also referred to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act of 1996, which gives tech companies legal immunity from the content that is published on their platforms He said that tech companies get a perk or subsidy thanks to the law, but that implicit in that law was an agreement from companies like Google that they wouldn’t discriminate based on political viewpoint.

Cruz said that, when that law was written, it was done so under the assumption that ‘There wouldn’t be a conservative internet and a liberal internet: just the internet,’ but that bargain is falling apart. ‘The American people are instead subject to both overt censorship and covert manipulation,’ Cruz said. “If Big Tech cannot provide us with evidence that it’s not playing Big Brother with its immense powers, we don’t need to give them a subsidy through Section 230.”

To put this in perspective, leftists wasted billions of dollars trying to prove the Russians hacked the 2016 election. Meanwhile, social media holds way more power over the outcome than any Russian entity.

Google’s Defense

Of course big tech never takes responsibility for their actions. Like five year olds, they cry “I didn’t do it.” And then they blame the algorithm.

In fact, Facebook flat out denies the existence of shadowbanning. But if it doesn’t exist, why did they get a patent for such technology?

According to Breitbart, “Facebook received a patent for technology that would limit the reach of blocked content while continuing to ‘display the blocked content to the commenting user such that the commenting user is not made aware that his or her comment was blocked.’”

And Project Veritas says the conservative censorship isn’t just the product of heavy-handed human moderation, but that it’s clearly built into the code. Still, Facebook staunchly denies such activities. But I can tell you for a fact, Facebook targeted our page four months ago and hasn’t let up yet.

In our notice of “reduced distribution,” we were pinged for two articles and two memes fact-checkers didn’t approve of.

For argument’s sake, let’s pretend the “fact-checkers” are right, and my articles are wrong. That’s still only two articles out of more than 8,000 articles on our site.

Do the math, that gives us an error rate of 0.025%. On the flip side, our accuracy sits at 99.075%. Show me where CNN comes close to that? Or any other left-leaning media outlet. Even Fox News can’t hold a candle to that. Still, we suffer the consequences of being conservative.
