In an effort to deflect from his own wrong-doing, Joe Biden is now calling for impeachment.
In fact, as Biden put it, this move is fundamental “to preserve our Constitution, our democracy, our basic integrity.”
Never mind the millions of dollars Biden ripped off from two different countries. Apparently that doesn’t defy the our basic integrity one bit.
As Fox News explains:
The former vice president had previously called for the president to be impeached if he would not comply with the impeachment inquiry underway by Democrats in the House of Representatives. Biden’s announcement comes just one day after the White House vowed not to participate in the House Democratic impeachment inquiry.
“We all laughed when he said he could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot someone and get away with it. It’s no joke,” Biden emphasized. “He’s shooting holes in the Constitution, and we cannot let him get away with it.”
The president, taking to Twitter while Biden was speaking in New Hampshire, pushed back.
“So pathetic to see Sleepy Joe Biden, who with his son, Hunter, and to the detriment of the American Taxpayer, has ripped off at least two countries for millions of dollars, calling for my impeachment – and I did nothing wrong. Joe’s Failing Campaign gave him no other choice!,” Trump wrote.
Of course, Biden’s call comes one day after the White House’s historic letter refusing to cooperate with the latest witch hunt.
What We Know
It’s perplexing to know Trump is the one in the hot seat when Democrats clearly are the wrong-doers. But it would have been amazing to see Pelosi’s face when she opened the letter explaining Trump’s position.
As we previously wrote:
Enough is enough. It’s time Congress stop infringing on the President’s constitutional rights with their bogus “impeachment inquiry.”
And that’s exactly what White House counsel said in an eight-page letter to Nancy Pelosi.
Of course, I doubt it will be enough to derail these sinister dems from their witch hunt. However, this letter is perhaps historic in it’s stance against another fruitless investigation and it seems to be leading up to the ultimate showdown between Donald Trump and Nancy Pelosi.
“President Trump and his administration reject your baseless, unconstitutional efforts to overturn the democratic process,” the letter stated. “Your unprecedented actions have left the president with no choice. In order to fulfill his duties to the American people, the Constitution, the Executive Branch, and all future occupants of the Office of the Presidency, President Trump and his administration cannot participate in your partisan and unconstitutional inquiry under these circumstances.”
The document concluded: “The president has a country to lead. The American people elected him to do this job, and he remains focused on fulfilling his promises to the American people.”
He’s exactly right. Trump has a country to lead. And all the time, money and resources wasted on these over-hyped, under-substantiated investigations could have gone a long way in accomplishing many things for the greater good.
Imagine how many infrastructure improvements alone we could accomplish with the cost of the Mueller report. In fact, cancer research, veteran’s benefits, homelessness, hunger- all these issues that surround us on a daily basis would make far better use of our spending. Instead, democrats are still so sore from losing in 2016, they’ll stop at nothing to destroy Trump’s administration.
Pelosi’s Powerless
Pelosi’s biggest problem with President Trump is that she can’t control him. She’s tried, but Trump refuses to play ball with the bottom-feeding swamp dwellers.
Then, Pelosi tried to control democrats, demanding impeachment be avoided, but her party threatened to leave her behind.
Now, Pelosi grasps at straws with promises of Trump’s head on a platter.
Fox continues:
Responding to the letter, Pelosi accused Trump of “trying to make lawlessness a virtue” and added, “The American people have already heard the President’s own words – ‘do us a favor, though.’” (That line, from a transcript of Trump’s call with Ukraine’s leader, in reality referred to Trump’s request for Ukraine to assist in an investigation into 2016 election interference, and did not relate to Biden.)
Pelosi continued: “This letter is manifestly wrong, and is simply another unlawful attempt to hide the facts of the Trump Administration’s brazen efforts to pressure foreign powers to intervene in the 2020 elections. … The White House should be warned that continued efforts to hide the truth of the President’s abuse of power from the American people will be regarded as further evidence of obstruction. Mr. President, you are not above the law. You will be held accountable.”
However, Pelosi is clearly all talk, no action. As of today, there still lacks the formal vote to start an impeachment inquiry. And do you want to guess why?
Impeachment is simply a ruse desperate dems cling to in hopes of influencing 2020. As Kevin Jackson is fond of saying, the democrat that can beat Trump hasn’t been born yet. Thus, they have no chance of winning. Their only hope is to kick off an investigation that sticks.
But, as I’ve said before, this won’t end well for Democrats. Here’s my prediction. Democrats fail to impeach, again. The strategy backfires big time. Trump pounces them in 2020. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to put all the pieces together.
