In case you’re wondering why President Trump didn’t provide Congress any details on the mission to get Abu al-Baghdadi, this story provides a reminder.
As President Trump said recently, DC leaks.
President Trump vowed to hunt ISIS as a campaign promise. And he quickly began destroying the army that Obama built.
As Fox News reported back in 2017:
ISIS in Iraq and Syria has been “dismantled,” with tens of thousands of its jihadist fighters dead, but a promising lead on its leader “went dead” after a media leak, according to a key U.S. military official.
“We have absolutely dismantled his network,” Gen. Tony Thomas, speaking of Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, said at the Aspen Security Forum. “I mean everyone who worked for him initially is dead or gone. Everybody who stepped to the plate the next time [is] dead or gone. Down through a network where we have killed, in a conservative estimate, 60,000 to 70,000 of his followers, his army.”
Try to imagine what an unfettered President Trump would have done to ISIS by now.
But the Democrats made sure that Obama’s army remained intact. Which is why the president found himself in a Groundhog Day scenario in the hunt for the most vicious terrorist since Osama bin Laden.
General Tony Thomas commented at the time, that the U.S. military had killed between 60,000 to 70,000 ISIS soldiers. He added,
“They seized on Libya as a failed state…. They declared it a province. Our estimates were that, at the high-water mark, they had anywhere from 1,500 to 2,000 folks primarily located in a seaside town named Sirte. They don’t exist anymore.”
Thomas said the direction from his boss, Defense Secretary James Mattis, was very clear.
“It was ‘defeat ISIS,’. It’s now ‘annihilate ISIS.’ I think he put a non-doctrinal term out there to amp up the volume a little bit. We all got the message.”
Understand that Democrats don’t care about Americans’ safety. That’s why Democrat mayors tip off illegals who are drug dealers and murders, when ICE is coming.
Frankly, it’s amazing these people aren’t in jail. Yet surprisingly they remain in office and manage to get re-elected. If that doesn’t show how corrupt the political system has become under Leftists, I’m not sure what other evidence you need.
Lucky for us, despite the constant Democrat hoopla, Trump never took his eyes off the prize. But he did have to go around some liberals to get it.
Democrats Out of the Loop
Two years after Trump’s mission to annihilate ISIS commenced, a plan formed. Intelligence reports believed Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was hiding at a compound in northern Syria’s Idlib Province. That’s when Special Ops set the raid in motion.
It’s pretty clear why Trump didn’t let democrats in on the secret. It was a calculated move based on Adam Schiff’s level of corruptness.
As NBC quoted:
“I think Adam Schiff is the biggest leaker in Washington.” Trump said before boarding Air Force One for a trip to Chicago. “You know that, I know that, we all know that. I’ve watched Adam Schiff leak. He’s a corrupt politician, he’s a leaker like nobody’s ever seen before.”
Trump said Sunday when he announced al-Baghdadi’s killing that he had not told Democrats of the plans because “I wanted to make sure this kept secret, I didn’t want to have men lost, and women, I didn’t want people lost.”
If you ask me, that was a smart move from the President. We know Adam Schiff and his cronies can’t be trusted. And their complete lack of knowledge regarding the raid means they can’t take credit for the victory either. There’s only one question remaining. What will Trump’s next win be?
