CNN’s Chris Cuomo thought he could make a fool of President Trump.
Then, his efforts backfired on live TV.
I’m not sure how much funnier these impeachment hearings are gonna get, but this is comedic gold.
As Fox News explains:
David Holmes, the political counsel at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, testified during Thursday’s impeachment hearing that he overheard a would-be damming phone call between Trump and European Union Ambassador Gordon Sondland. Holmes said he “could hear the president’s voice through the earpiece of the phone,” which was not on speakerphone.
Trump, in real-time, tweeted his skepticism.
“I have been watching people making phone calls my entire life. My hearing is, and has been, great. Never have I been watching a person making a call, which was not on speakerphone, and been able to hear or understand a conversation. I’ve even tried, but to no avail,” Trump tweeted. “Try it live!”
Stupid Is As Stupid Does
You would think leftists would be tired of Trump making a laughing stock of them, but Chris Cuomo couldn’t stop himself.
Thus, Cuomo accepted Trump’s challenge and called his mother during the impeachment hearings.
I’m sure you know how this is going to turn out, but I’ll finish the story anyway.
Cuomo decided to test out Trump’s theory.
It went something like this:
She said Bye Fredo ??? pic.twitter.com/mm1KImVBEd

Fox Continues:
“Let’s just play with that for a second. Mom can you hear me?” Cuomo asked, without receiving a response from his mother.
“I’m with Dana Bash… can you just say hello? Mom? She probably can’t hear me,” Cuomo said as he struggled to hear whether or not his mother could hear him.
Cuomo then put the device on speakerphone.
“Mom, can you hear me?” he asked again.
“I hear you, when you talk to me I hear you,” his mother responded.
The “Cuomo Prime Time” namesake then turned off speakerphone and could no longer hear him mother — just as Trump explained is typically the case.
A frustrated Cuomo then hung up the phone and crtics quickly lampooned the moment.
“CNN’s Cuomo trying to prove you can hear a conversation on another person’s cell phone (while on speaker, mind you) is the most ill-advised thing we’ve witnessed on live TV since Marcia Clark had OJ try the gloves on,” The Hill media reporter Joe Concha wrote.
Twitter Weighs In
These impeachment hearings are nothing more than cheap entertainment.
Here’s how Twitter ripped Cuomo:
There’s a distinct “Chris Darden making OJ try on the gloves” vibe to that Cuomo clip

Going to be hilarious when House doesn't convict Trump because of Chris Cuomo.

CNN Chris Cuomo fails at his speaker phone demonstration on live TV.
Oh boy.
Don't be on our side, ok Chris??? pic.twitter.com/A50nH3Ds5D— That Foster Chick ? ??? (@LisaFosterVoice) November 21, 2019
I see Chris Cuomo has solidified himself as the stupidest Cuomo once again.

I found it totally believable that Holmes could hear Trump’s conversation until Cuomo tried to prove it! Now I’m skeptical! ?
What an imbecile. https://t.co/xz9gVRDQlR

Had Enough Boys?
I get it, leftists have their tails in a spin trying to beat Trump. But at some point, it’s better to admit defeat and take a seat. Especially if you work for CNN.
Their ratings are in the toilet. And their leadership is long lost. In fact, Cuomo isn’t the first CNN anchor to fall on his own sword, so to speak.
Recall when Jim Acosta tried to prove the border wall isn’t necessary?
As we previously reported:
Acosta went to the southern border, where he tweeted his findings in regards to a border fence.
“Here are some of the steel slats that the president’s been talking about,” Acosta said while reporting from the southern border. “But as we’re walking along here, we’re not seeing any kind of imminent danger.”
The CNN reporter added, “There are no migrants trying to rush toward this fence.”
I found some steel slats down on the border. But I don’t see anything resembling a national emergency situation.. at least not in the McAllen TX area of the border where Trump will be today. pic.twitter.com/KRoLdszLUu

And the replies were priceless!

It’s tranquil because there’s a fence

When you do stories like this you mock the memories of the Americans murdered by criminal aliens. You’re far more disgusting than anyone thought possible.

There is no crisis there because there’s a wall genius…the crisis is where there is no wall

Thanks for proving @POTUS correct #wallswork #BuildTheWall slats = barrier = WALL
— Angie (@bengstona) January 10, 2019
This one just might be my favorite!
Jim, thank you for highlighting the effectiveness of the border barrier!! Given the prevalence and severity of TDS it takes real courage to go against the Dem party and your network’s messaging that barriers don’t work. Well done!

One day we’ll look back and remember that time Jim Acosta tried proving that the American border doesn’t need a wall by showing how safe the part of the American border that already has a wall is

Surely Cuomo knows Acosta failed to prove Trump wrong. Thus, Cuomo’s attempt to take on the President is even more shocking. Maybe next time CNN will look for an actual fact before challenging the President.
