An interesting piece of news is floating around about Bernie Sanders and his sordid past.
In fact, when I first saw the headline, I thought it was almost “too good to be true.”
But after finding leftists entities such as Snopes verified the story, I was utterly in shock. It seems Bernie wasn’t always a friend to the environment.
Honestly, I don’t know why Bernie’s opponents haven’t dumped this little morsel in front of the wolves. Once upon a time, Bernie Sander thought it a good idea to dump nuclear wastes in a poor Latina town in Texas.
The story goes like this. Back in 1998, Sanders was a Representative and he cosponsored a bill to help Vermont and Maine dump their nuclear wastes. And the site for their dumping is a town known as Sierra Blanca, Texas. Rumor has it that protestors were given the “stiff-arm.” In fact, an article in the Texas Observer headlined: “Sanders to Sierra Blanca: Drop Dead.” The headline refers to an accusation that Sanders refused to visit the town and discuss the matter with residents.

Of course, here we are twenty years later, and Snopes points out that this part of the story isn’t 100% verified. Apparently, when Sanders was asked to visit Texas, he responded: “Absolutely not. I’m running for office in Vermont.” Okay, I can admit when we don’t have all the facts. But it’s quite discouraging when Snopes went looking ONLY to Sanders for verification. And since his team didn’t admit Sanders’ cowardly stance, we are supposed to assume it’s not true. I prefer to assume it is. Especially since it was an eye-witness account in the original article.
Of course, there’s no denying Sierra Blanca happened. Paul Wellstone, a progressive liberal, addressed the Senate with fiery words. He called this dumping “environmental racism” and Texas Democrat Silvester Reyes referred to Sanders’ actions as “insanely callous.” Eventually, the site was rejected. And a different Texas town was the lucky winner of nuclear wastes. Sadly, this Vermont/Texas deal is still in place.
But the story doesn’t end there. In fact, it seems we have a Hunter Biden scandal on our hands.
While this scandal doesn’t reach the epic million dollar payouts Hunter received, there is still some impropriety here.
Thanks to Tim Miller we learned that Bernie’s tax returns revealed a little secret.
In 2016, Sanders’ tax returns revealed that as of 2014 Jane Sanders was still drawing a small salary as an alternate commissioner for the Texas Low-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Compact Commission as part of the agreement with Vermont that her husband pushed.
Talk about a toxic deal! Here we have the same man who authored the craziest version of the Green New Deal planning to dump toxic wastes on the very poor people he pretends to be an advocate of.
And he was too big of a p-you-know-what to show up and face the community his plan most affected. Then, to add insult to injury, Sanders set his wife up with a sweet deal. I wonder if jobs you get paid for, but don’t actually show up to do, is just a normal part of leftism?
Of course, Sanders isn’t the first democrat to funnel money to his wife. Not too long ago, we discovered Beto padding his wife’s pockets as well. I’m sure there are a hundred more we haven’t pin-pointed just yet.
As for Bernie, it still blows my mind that this guy was a jobless joke before he turned into a career politician. It’s no wonder his ideology is to take everyone’s money and pass it around to those who don’t do a damn thing to earn it.
Americans won’t choose a socialist. That’s a fact. But I’m still looking forward to the moment when Trump takes Sierra Blanca and uses it to rake Bernie over the coals. In fact, Sanders needs something to keep him warm once Democrats finally freeze him out.
In the meantime, here’s fifteen seconds Bernie wishes he could send to Texas for a proper burial.
