President Donald Trump wasn’t the bull in the china shop Democrats hoped he would be. In fact, Trump acted deliberately, even bipartisan.
Many Trump staffers were former adversaries. Others, like Omarosa were Democrats. After Trump’s unlikely victory, he didn’t go on a seek and destroy mission. Quite the contrary. Trump behaved cordially.
Little did he know that all around him were Deep State swamp rats. The Never Trumpers, Resisters, Obama holdovers, Democrats in general, even some so-called Republicans plotted to take him out.
Obama weaponized the government against Trump from the moment he won the Republican nominee. Then Obama bragged that Trump would not be elected. Trump got the last laugh; or so he thought.
When asked what his biggest surprise was when serving as president, Trump declared, ‘how nasty things are.’ He was shocked at the level of hatred Democrats genned up among their populations.
As President Trump prepares for his second term, he found his sea legs. No more surprises by the Democrats, whom he now knows will stop at no level to upend him. Thus, President Trump now goes on offense.
Post-Senate vote, the president fired two people related to impeachment farce. And most smart people knew these first two casualties of the attempted coup are only the beginning.
Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.
I questioned some of President Trump’s appointments. I wanted more partisan choices, and Conservatives of course. Decades of Leftism decimated America, and his victory meant a righting of the ship. But Trump seemingly offered olive branches to the Left. Recall he agreed not to go after Hillary Clinton, after campaigning to “Lock her up!”.
But those days are gone. Democrats forced his hand, as he now realizes they will not relent.
We learned that the president and his national security adviser Robert O’Brien have cut 70 positions inherited from former President Barack Obama. This move occurs partly due to Obama’s bloated staff of over 200 people. But you can bet President Trump took great pleasure in giving many of these swamp rats their pink slips. Some returned to their original agencies, having been on loan. And you can bet they are under scrutiny. But some of them were summarily dismissed…from their duties.
These cuts began happening a while back. As the Washington Times reported,
Under President Obama, the NSC staff mushroomed to as many as 450 people. Mr. O’Brien plans to cut the staff to fewer than 120 policy officials by early next year.
450 people. That’s a lot of people capable of spying on challengers.
To put this number in perspective, former President George W. Bush handled the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with 100 NSC aides. And Bush was no spend-thrift.
Obama entered government to grow government. And not because America needs more government, because we obviously don’t. Obama used the government to pay back cronies, and then call in favors as needed. His attempted political hit on Donald Trump showcases on such effort.
By relieving these Obama swamp rats of their roles, President Trump tips the balance of power back in favor of the people. America gets the added benefit of a smaller drain on the country’s budget.
