If you apply disgraced former Special Investigator Bob Mueller’s logic on Hillary Clinton’s server fiasco, Clinton serves time in federal prison.
The reason why Mueller didn’t recommend any further actions towards Trump is, doing so would have destroyed the Democrats.
Mueller knows that Democrats set Trump up. Also, Mueller knows his real job involved convicting Trump no matter what.
Understand that Comey performed his duty earlier exonerating Clinton. Recall the tortuous explanation of how he saw no “intent”, as Clinton and team destroyed 33,000 emails, wiped servers clean with BleachBit, hammered cell phones. Comey tried to convince America that Clinton’s use of a non-authorized personal server hidden in her basement bathroom closet showed no “intent”.
Based on Comey’s definition of “intent”, Ted Bundy would go free. Thankfully Barr appears ready to uphold the rule of law in America. And in a brief excerpt from an interview with CBS News, Barr undermined Mueller’s account of his team’s conclusion.
Barr explained that Mueller could have made a conclusion about presidential wrongdoing if he wanted to.
The Office of Legal Counsel opinion Mueller cited simply suggests a sitting president can’t be indicted.
“I personally felt he could have reached a decision as to whether it was criminal activity…the opinion says you can’t indict…but he had his reasons for not doing it which he explained…but when he didn’t make a decision the Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and I felt it necessary as the heads of the department to make a decision.”
Clearly, Barr saw through Mueller’s gambit. Thus his statement essentially saying Mueller lied.
Mueller didn’t make a decision, because he couldn’t “Comey” the investigation. Mueller had no way to get Trump. Thus, he concluded his vague statement which allowed Democrats to continue their impeachment ruse.
During his press conference, Mueller declared, “If we had confidence that the president had not committed a crime, we would have said so.”
Mueller continued in his comments with the argument that he would leave the task of prosecuting the president to Congress.
AG Barr explained the fallacy of Mueller’s comments, saying,
“The DoJ doesn’t use our powers of investigating crimes as an adjunct to Congress.”
Clearly Barr recognized Mueller’s move as a “cover your ass” move to satisfy those to whom he reported: the Democrats.
Next, Barr responded to criticisms that he was protecting the president. A man who served under the Bush administration is the last person one would expect to help the president.
Barr commented that such claims, “just go with the territory of being the attorney general in a hyperpartisan time.”
“We live in a hyperpartisan age where people no longer really pay attention to the substance of what’s said but instead who said it…the Department of Justice is all about the law and the facts and the substance…I’m going to make the decision based on the law and the facts…I think it just goes with the territory of being attorney general in a hyperpartisan period of time.”
Democrats never expected things to get this far out of hand. Thus, they never expected the rule of law to come back into play. And now that party of leeches and roaches find themselves in uncharted territory.
