Leave This City Now! Save Yourselves.

America’s biggest city wants to defund the police. As if things aren’t bad enough in the big apple.

Make no mistake about it, Mayor De Blasio is certifiable. He’s proven it time and again. Now his latest bright idea is to cut a billion dollars from the NYPD budget.

The NYPD is no small operation. In fact, it is one of the oldest municipal police departments in the country. Furthermore, NYPD is the largest police department in the country, with about 36,000 officers and nearly 20k civilian employees. More than 56,000 people rely on NYPD to get paid. As such, their budget topped $6B this year.

Now, NYPD faces a 20% loss. What will they cut back on? Employees? That’s approximately 11,000 people out of the job. Forgive me if that makes me think these leftists love unemployment. Because they want to destroy everything Trump built.

And what about new training for the police? How many speeches over the past month called for increased training in police departments? How will that be paid for with huge cuts to the budget? Doesn’t it seem like the opposite is what police departments need? More funding, more training. And in these times of protests and looting, riots and burning buildings, it’s fair to say we need more law enforcement on the streets in every corner of this country.

Furthermore, what about the people who dial 911? Is this another one of those plans to send social workers on distress calls?

Hard Choices

De Blasio held a press conference to announce the huge cuts coming forward. He actually said he faced the “toughest budget that we’ve had to do as an administration here at City Hall.” As if we believe De Blasio cares.

Listen carefully to his words, and you will easily spot the leftist hypocrisy.

As Fox News quotes:

“We’re in a whole different situation in fact than New York City has ever faced in our history – a health care crisis, an economic crisis, a disparity crisis, a budget crisis all wrapped into one and on a massive, massive scale,” he said. “We’ve gotta focus on those basics health, safety, food, shelter.”

Did you spot the word safety? Last I checked, cutting law enforcement didn’t create safer spaces. According to CNN, “murder, burglary and grand larceny auto crimes have spiked in New York City this past month.” And I’m willing the pandemic skyrocketed the number of rapes that go unreported.

Further statics show “There have been 38 murders over the last 28 days, twice as much as the same period last year, according to NYPD stats as of up to June 14. So far this year, there have been 159 murders, which is 25% higher than last year, the stats show.”

How many of you find yourselves shaking your heads in disbelief? The mayor of New York City knows these stats. He’s briefed on a daily basis. Yet, his answer to the social unrest in this country is to put his entire city at risk by removing any semblance of safety and security.

But again, leftists always show us who they are. Hypocrites. De Blasio’s words called for safety. But his actions call for pandemonium.

Police Response

It’s no doubt NYPD is shocked by De Blasio’s latest move. Sure, these are tough times. And there are belts we all have to tighten. But to leave people exposed to rapes and robberies because a bad cop in Minneapolis created a national crisis? That’s just not right.

Fox spoke with police representatives:

“It‘s important to show that we are going to make changes in this city. We are going to refocus our efforts on young people in particular,” de Blasio said. “It’s being done in a smart safe manner and I know the NYPD can handle it effectively.”
But Patrick Lynch, president of the Police Benevolent Association, which is the largest union for members of the NYPD, said de Blasio’s message “was clear: you will have fewer cops on your streets.”

“Shootings more than doubled again last week. Even right now, the NYPD doesn’t have enough manpower to shift cops to one neighborhood without making another neighborhood less safe,” Lynch said in an emailed statement. “We will say it again: the Mayor and the City Council have surrendered the city to lawlessness. Things won’t improve until New Yorkers hold them responsible.”

Imagine that. A city without proper police patrols is less safe. As they say here in the south, “who would’a thunk it?’

But this disorder won’t last long. Today, Trump tweeted his plans to take back Seattle. Because Trump has the balls to take action. So it won’t be long before the president puts the National Guard in New York City. Expect the comeback of law and order.
