Leftists need a scapegoat. And who better to shoulder the blame than Donald Trump?
Clearly, “Trump did it” is the go-to answer whenever liberal leadership is questioned.
As such, it’s no surprise to find NY Governor Andrew Cuomo claiming Trump brought coronavirus to the streets and caused tens of thousands of deaths.
As Fox News reports:
“If Trump’s government had done its job, the virus wouldn’t have come here,” Cuomo said Thursday on CNN. “The virus didn’t come here because of anything New Yorkers did, the virus came here because the federal government missed it.”
Keep in mind, Trump cut off travel from China against the advice of top officials. They called Trump’s actions overkill. But Cuomo needs to shift the blame recently cast upon him.
Cuomo Policies Killed Elderly
From the moment corona virus hit the news, we’ve been warned about the at-risk population. That list included diabetics, people with heart-disease, the medically frail, newborns and the elderly.
On what planet does it make sense to send covid patients into nursing homes? But that’s exactly what Cuomo did.
Fox continues:
The number of deaths in the Empire State is over 30,000, dwarfing the death tolls in other states. Cuomo has been criticized in particular for a now-reversed policy that sent COVID patients into nursing homes.
CNN anchor Jake Tapper pushed back this week in a Twitter thread against Cuomo’s “crowing” about New York’s handling of the virus. He also highlighted a poster that Cuomo had put out declaring “New York Tough” and dinging President Trump. Tapper noted what was missing from the poster.
NY state has lost more than 32,000 lives to COVID-19. So while it’s great that the numbers have gone down, it’s perplexing to see crowing, Cuomo going on Fallon, etc. No other state has lost as many lives, not even close. New Jersey is next with 17,000+https://t.co/aIphqXdWYz

The Propaganda Machine
Cuomo loves to paint himself as the lone ranger protecting NYC from the evils lurking. But he fails to illustrate the truth of the situation.
Trapper pointed out the discrepancies there.
“There are no illustrations, however, of the more 32,000 dead New Yorkers, the highest death toll by far of any state. No rendering on that poster of the criticism that Governor Cuomo ignored warnings, no depiction of the study that he could have saved thousands of lives had he and Mayor De Blasio acted sooner, no painting of his rescinded order that nursing homes take all infected patients in,” the CNN anchor continued.

The president sees things in a different light.
Like Trump put it, the administration’s WuFlu actions “made a lot of governors look fantastic.”
“What we did in New York was one of the most incredible things: 2,800 beds in Javits Center, but the governor used very few of them, unfortunately,” he said. “Then we moved in our great hospital ships.”
He then attacked Cuomo’s nursing home policy and his handling of the virus in general.
“Thousands of people in New York died because of poor management by the governor,” Trump said. “And it’s a very sad thing to see and very sad to watch and very sad to look at those statistics.”
Too bad Cuomo wasn’t smart enough to take Trump’s advice. He won’t face reelection until 2022. But I’m sure his constituents will have covid on their mind the day they cast that ballot.
