Supposedly President Trump’s pick to replace deceased Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been leaked to CNN.
Is this the fake news networks attempt to gain credibility? If they are right, could they influence President Trump to change direction?
I have another theory. If the pick is leaked, is this Trump setting a trap to find another swamp rat?
Regardless, the rumor is that Amy Coney Barrett will be the next Supreme Court Justice. So says CNN.
In their report, CNN cited “multiple senior Republican sources with knowledge of the process”. And they claim that these “senior Republican allies on the Hill” indicated Barret will be the nominee.
More anonymous sources. At least CNN had the decency of narrowing the list of potential leakers to under 5000 possible people in DC.
Frankly, one doesn’t have to be Nostradamus to know that Barrett was the front-runner. Barrett was supposedly a top contender in 2018 to fill the vacated seat of Justice Antonin Scalia. However, the president selected Kavanaugh and the rest is history.
A former senior administration official told CNN:
“She was the plan all along. She’s the most distinguished and qualified by traditional measures. She has the strongest support among the legal conservatives who have dedicated their lives to the court. She will contribute most to the court’s jurisprudence in the years and decades to come.”
As with most things these days, you can bet on the outcome. Barrett represented the odds-on favorite to be selected according to PredictIt.
Sources say that Barrett was the only candidate who met with the president in person. And given her near selection in 2018, I agree that she is the likely choice.
Barrett, 48, is an Indiana native and graduate of Notre Dame University Law School. She clerked for the late Justice Antonin Scalia, which certainly solidifies her Conservative credentials.
Leftists attack dogs stand ready
Democrat Playbook 101 requires an all out assault on Barrett. The Democrats have so many problems in what will be a failed onslaught on Barrett.
First, America has tired of the political games played by Democrats. Republicans won, Democrats lost. So Barrett will be confirmed.
Second, Kavanaugh made things a lot easier for a woman justice. Trump knows this, which is why he pulled a Biden and limited his choice to a woman.
Third, the Left can’t mount a serious attack on a woman; ironically, because of Kavanaugh. So the attack will be feeble at best.
Fourth, Barrett likely won’t give a crap. She knows she’s a shoe-in, so why sweat the process.
