James Brown sang, “Its a Man’s World”, but you wouldn’t know it from Judge Amy Barrett. Talk about manhandling the Democrats. There is nothing meager or submissive about Barrett.
And after her confirmation, nobody will believe her to be an Affirmative Action appointee.
Barrett is imminently qualified, and this bothers the Democrats. After all, look at the two women appointed by Obama in comparison. Leftists are still sore over that duo.
Thus, when hearings to confirm Judge Amy Barrett to the Supreme Court commenced, the dog fight was imminent.
Did SCOTUS make the right decision on medical mandates for large businesses?
Lindsey Graham was quick to point out that yes, “we are confirming a judge in an election year”; but, as he reminded us, the vote has occured.
Still, leftists are furious that Donald Trump has the opportunity to install another judge on the Supreme Court. And let’s get real, he’ll likely have one or two appointments during his next term as well.
As for Graham, his support of the president has definitely gathered opposition. Apparently, one leftist is pouring tons of money into a campaign to unseat the incumbent. And if Graham were drawing such a hard line in the sand for any other president, I would assume his days as a senator stood in jeopardy. However, in the age of Trump, I more believe voters will be motivated to keep this conservative in power. Of course, I base my opinion on Beto O’Rourke’s attempt to unseat Ted Cruz. He had the money, the younger demographic, and all the fanfare in the world. But all it took to keep Cruz in the Texas seat was Donald Trump’s endorsement. Keep in mind, much went into creating the Trump brand. Thus, he doesn’t throw his name behind just anyone.
Back to Barrett
She’s no docile submissive. The left wants to paint this picture of Barrett as her husband’s puppet. But as these hearings move, we see more and more that Barrett is completely her own woman.
In fact, she acknowledged as much, saying “When I went to college,” she said, “it never occurred to me that anyone would consider girls to be less capable than boys.”
Further, Barrett demonstrates the kind of empathy few leftists truly carry. Barrett elaborates, saying: “When I write an opinion resolving a case, I read every opinion from the perspective of the losing party,” she said. “I ask myself how I would feel if one of my children was the party I was ruling against.”
Right there, those two sentences should be enough to call off the witch hunt, but I have a feeling Democrats are dialed in to give Barrett the ‘Kavanaugh Treatment.’ Yet, Barrett says her family is “all in,” and that she knew exactly what a confirmation process looked like before she accepted the nomination.
Barrett continued: “I’ve tried to be on a media blackout for the sake of my mental health,” Barrett told the committee. “You can’t keep yourself walled off from everything and I’m aware of a lot of the caricatures that are floating around.”
She added: “We knew that our lives would be combed over for any negative detail. We knew that our faith would be caricatured. We knew our family would be attacked. And so we had to decide whether those difficulties would be worth it because what sane person would go through that if there wasn’t a benefit on the other side?”
And while Barrett is giving all the right answers, there are a few answers she refuses to give.
The Ginsburg Rule
I always love when I get the chance to point out the leftist hypocrisy. Because, from where I sit, those double standards plague us on every front. And this is no different.
When it comes to the hot topics Democrats demand answers for, such as abortion and Obamacare, it seems Barrett is following the lead of late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. As such, she offers “no hints and no previews.” Barrett even clarified that she won’t “precommitt” because she doesn’t have an agenda. She plans to take cases and apply the law. Tell me what is wrong with that? It seems Democrats prefer the idea of Barrett as an extension of Trump’s arm.
It’s funny how much leftists pretend to respect both the memory and the work of RGB, and yet they’re so quick to flush her practices down the toilet!
In fact, Senator Feinstein was flabbergasted by Barrett’s refusal to cement herself into a specific decision regarding cases such as Roe v. Wade, Planned Parenthood v. Casey.
Meanwhile, conservatives hope Judge Barrett will flush something else down the toilet. Namely, ObamaCare. Or, as we like to call it, ObamaNoCare.
However, as conservatives, we get it. ObamaCare won’t hit the toilet because we picked a judge. Instead, Obamacare will be flushed down the toilet because its unconstitutional. And as such, any judge dedicated to the law has no choice but to can the worst healthcare legislation in the history of our nation.
Did I mention Barrett is also a gun owner? It’s a hard day in the life of a liberal.
