Having BLM in your city is not like getting a Whole Foods or a Starbucks. No, when BLM enters your city, there goes the neighborhood.
A new research study shows that cities that held Black Lives Matter protests saw a 10 percent increase in murders in data taken from 2014-2019.
Vox reported preliminary findings from a study conducted by Travis Campbell, a Ph.D. student at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Campbell’s data showed that cities with protests had “somewhere between 1,000 and 6,000 more homicides than would have been expected if places with protests were on the same trend as places that did not have protests.”
If you’re wondering how this happened, then you might not be paying attention.
Defund the Police efforts on behalf of most of these cities forced law enforcement to take a different tack. As the study shows, police reduced lethal force over the same period. This resulted in fewer bad guys being killed:
From 2014 to 2019, Campbell tracked more than 1,600 BLM protests across the country, largely in bigger cities, with nearly 350,000 protesters. His main finding is a 15 to 20 percent reduction in lethal use of force by police officers — roughly 300 fewer police homicides — in census places that saw BLM protests.
Campbell’s research also indicates that these protests correlate with a 10 percent increase in murders in the areas that saw BLM protests. That means from 2014 to 2019, there were somewhere between 1,000 and 6,000 more homicides than would have been expected if places with protests were on the same trend as places that did not have protests. Campbell’s research does not include the effects of last summer’s historic wave of protests because researchers do not yet have all the relevant data.
It’s only going to get worse.
Leftist-run cities use new tactics to get rid of police departments. In some municipalities, they allow criminals to sue police directly for any perceived infractions. These actions, teamed with the already anti-police sentiment of many Leftist city “leaders”, cause a mass exodus of police.

For example, Leftists whine for “livable” wages, while asking for a universal basic income that will be nowhere close to a livable wage. Next, they demand $15 per hour minimum wages, which will cause their UBI to go down dramatically.
Put another way, if they are given a UBI of $20,000 per year, once the minimum wage doubles, their UBI is cut in half. But don’t think these braindead morons will make the connection. As they will cry to have their UBI doubled.
In the case of police, the scenarios that will play out are an easy calculus.
Soon, cities who force their police departments to disband will be uninhabitable. Such is the current situation in the Leftist Utopias of Seattle and Portland. Even other Leftists are leaving these cities in droves.
BLM is a scourge on society. And that’s why Democrats love them and fund them.
In no civilized society would this blatantly racist, terrorist organization exist. Anybody supporting this group of anarchists has no concern for society as a whole. ALL lives matter, and no color of life matters more than another.
Further, a group known to kill police and condone the killing of police has no place in any society.
But since Leftists and Democrats love their thug culture, America must endure this nonsense. Just yesterday another black man was shot in Minneapolis, and the city was forced to deploy National Guard troops.
America needs to wake up from “woke” and deal with these issues from a pragmatic, non-racial point of view.
