Remember this attention-grabbing Leftists who sought to raise her status at the expense of the police?
Marilyn Mosby is the high-profile prosecutor who positioned herself as ethnocentric racist, willing to throw law-enforcement under the bus for her own political gain. In 2014 at the age of 34, she had become one of the nation’s youngest law enforcement chief officers.
The following year, Mosby rose to national prominence when she pursued criminal charges against six police officers in the death of Freddie Gray. Gray was killed while in police custody. And like most deaths where a black man dies at the hands of police, cities across America burned, including Baltimore.
In the end, none of the officers were convicted.
Fast-forward to now, and we learn that like others in Mosby’s position, she believes the ‘laws are for thee and not for me.’
According to The Daily Mail,
A federal grand jury indicted Baltimore’s top prosecutor Thursday on charges of perjury and making false mortgage applications in the purchase of two Florida vacation homes.
The four-count indictment alleges that Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby, 41, lied about meeting qualifications for coronavirus-related distributions from a city retirement plan in 2020.
Federal prosecutors also allege that the Democratic prosecutor lied on 2020 application forms for mortgages to purchase a home in Kissimmee and a condominium in Long Boat Key.
She has been indicted on two counts of perjury and two mortgage-related charges.
Interesting how these Leftist social justice warriors seem so eager to make property purchases.
Recall how one of the founders of BLM purchased FOUR homes worth about $3.5 million:
“Con-Cullors” might argue that she planned on bringing in more black people by chasing out the whites. But I don’t think most people would buy this argument. Because “Con-Cullors” owns, not ONE home in a toney white area, but FOUR homes!
As The New York Post revealed, “Con-Cullors” is a fraud:
As protests broke out across the country in the name of Black Lives Matter, the group’s co-founder went on a real estate-buying binge, snagging four high-end homes for $3.2 million in the US alone, according to property records.
Patrisse Khan-Cullors, 37, also eyed property in the Bahamas at an ultra-exclusive resort where Justin Timberlake and Tiger Woods both have homes, The Post has learned. Luxury apartments and townhouses at the beachfront Albany resort outside Nassau are priced between $5 million and $20 million, according to a local agent.
The self-described Marxist last month purchased a $1.4 million home on a secluded road a short drive from Malibu in Los Angeles, according to a report. The 2,370 square-foot property features “soaring ceilings, skylights and plenty of windows” with canyon views. The Topanga Canyon homestead, which includes two houses on a quarter acre, is just one of three homes Khan-Cullors owns in the Los Angeles area, public records show.
And most interesting in the Mosby case is she wanted to buy homes in the FREE state of Florida and not the slave state of Maryland.
The article continues,
In 2020, Mosby submitted requests for one-time withdrawals of $40,000 and $50,000, respectively, from Baltimore’s deferred compensation plans, according to the indictment.
It alleges that Mosby falsely certified that she experienced adverse financial hardships because of the coronavirus, but actually received her nearly $250,000 salary in 2020.
The indictment also alleges that in 2020 and 2021, Mosby made false statements in applications for a $490,500 mortgage to purchase a home in Kissimmee, Florida, and for a $428,400 mortgage to purchase a condominium in Long Boat Key, Florida.
Governor DeSantis has a new trophy to put on his mantle.
But while Mosby was looking to profit from real-estate, her state lies in disarray. As the article points out, since her time in office, Mosby has also been the center of controversy for her policies relating to the state’s crime wave. One such controversial policy included keeping low-level offenders out of prison. And you can bet that “low-level” is a matter of interpretation, given the massive rise in crime.
And as if Kamala Harris needs any more bad press, in 2017 then-Senator Harris praised Mosby for her policies and actions. Harris commented on Mosby at the time:
‘When we march and we shout about what we need to do to reform the criminal justice system, we better understand that we gotta march and shout with our paychecks – and all of the work that we can do to actually make sure that somebody like Marilyn Mosby gets reelected into that office, to not only get convictions, but have convictions.’
Harris added,
‘There are a lot of people who are highly critical of her because she heard the voices of the people and said, “Even if I can’t win I’m going to do the right thing.” It’s going to be rough. It’s going to be tough. … She cannot fail and I know she will not fail.’
Finally, in a statement Mosby may want to walk back soon she said, ‘there would be no Marilyn Mosby without Kamala Harris,’ essentially calling Harris an inspiration.
Even more deception
Mosby was a tax cheat, as the article suggests:
Mosby was required to disclose liabilities, but didn’t disclose that she had unpaid federal taxes from a number of previous years and that in March 2020, the Internal Revenue Service placed a lien against all property and rights to property belonging to the Mosbys in the amount of $45,022, the amount of unpaid taxes Mosby and her husband owed the IRS as that time.
Almost laughably, Mosby planned on profiting from people vacationing in Florida by renting out her space. And as noted in the article, about a week before she closed on the Kissimmee home, Mosby executed an agreement with a vacation home management company. This agreement gave the company control over the rental of the property, according to the indictment.
This activity would have been forbidden, based on a ‘second home rider’ she later signed. This rider provided that the borrower occupy and use the property as their second home and maintain exclusive control over the ownership of the property, the indictment said. Essentially the rider would allow Mosby to obtain a lower interest rate.
As you can see, Mosby is a Democrat just being a Democrat.
