The death toll from Hurricane Ian is still climbing with at least 35 people dead in Lee County, Florida alone. The 9 foot water swell flooded things so bad, it’s being called a 500 year storm. And with all the destruction, we have to throw in some leftist ignorance for good measure.
It will take years to rebuild everything Floridians lost this week, much like Hurricane Katrina that wreaked havoc over New Orleans in 2005. And if we’ve seen anything from the disasters of the post, we know one thing. The cock roaches among us will crawl out of the cracks and take every opportunity to take advantage of this disaster.
How many episodes of looting and vandalizing have we seen with every disaster in the past decade? More than I can count, for sure. And Ron DeSantis isn’t ready to watch his state face even more destruction at the hands of people completely lacking a set of morals. But according to Joy Reid, it’s racist to discourage looting.
The Gateway Pundit elaborates:
“We are a law and order state, and this is a law and order community,” DeSantis said while speaking at a press conference in Fort Myers on Friday. “So do not think that you’re going to take advantage of people who’ve suffered misery.”

“Don’t even think about looting,” DeSantis said later.
“I can tell you in the state of Florida, you never know what may be lurking behind somebody’s home,” DeSantis said. “And I would not want to chance that if I were you — given that we’re a Second Amendment state.”
Joy Reid lashed out at DeSantis.
