When you consider if Blacks need the NAACP, look at their latest idiotic move.
According the NAACP, black people are not safe in Florida. So the organization issued a travel advisory for the state. They allege increased racism against black people. And they based this advisory on a move by Gov. Ron DeSantis restricting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs in education.
According to the advisory, DeSantis’ “so-called leadership” has made Florida hostile to all non-white and LGBTQ people.
Don’t forget that Florida is loaded with people of all kinds. And yet the NAACP didn’t issue any warning to “all non-white and LGBTQ people” living in Florida. Just the one’s traveling to Florida.
What did DeSantis actually do?
Recently DeSantis signed a bill that banned public colleges and universities in the state from allotting money to diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. A smart move, given that these programs accomplish absolutely nothing. In fact, Columbia University spent $180 million studying and implementing DEI for their school. Upon conclusion, they were in fact LESS diverse than they were previously.
DEI is a reparations. And the NAACP cashes in on this nonsensical BS.
The advisory reads,
“Florida is openly hostile toward African Americans, people of color and LGBTQ+ individuals. Before traveling to Florida, please understand that the state of Florida devalues and marginalizes the contributions of, and the challenges faced by African Americans and other communities of color.”
“On a seeming quest to silence African-American voices, the Governor and the State of Florida have shown that African Americans are not welcome in the State of Florida”
How interesting. No mention of the voices silenced by black on black crime. Further, if you are going to issue a travel warning to people, issue one that matters–like avoiding black neighborhoods.
Another warning might be, “Avoid any city controlled by Democrats.”
Back to reality.
The NAACP must want some of that Black Lives Matter $83 billion in donations.
Think about it. The NAACP has been around for over 100 years and never raised the money of BLM. Clearly, from a fundraising perspective, the NAACP needs an overhaul. That’s why NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson painted the fight as existential.
Black people in Florida are in danger unless the NAACP steps in. According to Johnson, Governor DeSantis is threatening democracy and the “democratic ideals that our union was founded upon.”
It gets better, as Johnson invited others to join the NAACP in “the battle for the soul of our nation.”
Not to be outdone, Chair of the NAACP Board of Directors, Leon Russell commented:
“Once again, hate-inspired state leaders have chosen to put politics over people. Governor Ron DeSantis and the state of Florida have engaged in a blatant war against principles of diversity and inclusion and rejected our shared identities to appeal to a dangerous, extremist minority.”
What next? Slavery will be reinstated in Florida. “Lawd, say it ain’t so!”
While the stupidity of the NAACP deserved no response, DeSantis called it a “joke.
“What a joke,” DeSantis said. “Yeah, we’ll see, we’ll see how effective that is.”
An organization began by Republicans now pimps for Democrats and other Leftists. And this latest stunt is meant to help with fundraising pure and simple.
