First, Biden jacked up the cost of energy. Then he wiped out the value of a dollar. Now, he wants to leave you hot and bothered, and NOT in a good way.
Turns out, Nelly won’t be the only one singing “it’s gettin’ hot in herre” this summer, as many consumers are already learning.
In addition to taking away gas stoves, Biden now wants your air conditioners! Of course, the administration pretends it’s all in the name of “climate change”, which turned into a $40B a year scam under the Obama Administration.
Much like they did with the pandemic, Democrats are shameless in their use of fake science, phony data, and absolutely fabricated scare tactics employed to make Americans believe the leftist way is the only responsible choice.
FNN explains:
Now that air conditioning season is commencing across most of America, nearly 100 million homeowners are turning on their systems for the first time since last summer, hoping they get cold air. Those that don’t will need repairs, which may require replacing refrigerant that has leaked out of the system.
Unfortunately, new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations are limiting supplies of these refrigerants – the result of a law targeting them as contributors to climate change. The production quotas have driven up their price about three-fold, and a recharge may cost $100 to $500 more than before these provisions took effect, depending on how much replacement refrigerant is needed.
The refrigerant quotas get much tighter next year, so expect repair bills to continue rising. In addition, new EPA rules aimed at those who service air conditioners – such as the one requiring refrigerants to be carried around in heavy refillable cylinders – will also impose costs likely to be passed on.
The shock from a high repair estimate might be enough to induce some to consider buying a new system instead, but the news there is even worse. Department of Energy (DOE) efficiency standards add to EPA measures to create an expensive one-two regulatory punch.
The efficiency standards are supposed to save consumers money, but in reality, excessively stringent requirements can raise the up-front cost of the equipment more than many will ever earn back in the form of energy savings.
In 2017, I wrote of the solar letdown:
For decades, green energy supporters touted solar energy as the answer. However, the solar energy industry cannot support itself without massive government subsidies. The average homeowner would need a $30,000 system just to save $2,000 a year. And who really knows what the savings are, given the Obama administration’s “fake data.”
Regardless, even using their numbers it would take 15 years just to recover one’s initial investment. Since the average home owner stays in their house less than 13 years, a buyer never recovers his or her investment.
As we’ve learned with Leftists, their policies aren’t about saving taxpayers money or doing something amazing for the cause.
The Institute for Energy Research reports:
President Obama subsidized solar and other renewable energy in the United States with taxpayer money to the tune of $39 billion per year on average for the past 5 years. These massive subsidies, however, have done little to increase the contribution of solar power to the electricity generation mix as solar is expected to produce just 0.6 percent of electricity generation this year.
Disregarding the cost to the American taxpayer and the failed solar projects in the United States, President Obama has pledged billions of dollars to fund solar energy development in India. On his trip to India, President Obama was hoping to bring back a deal similar to the one he made in China to peak the country’s carbon dioxide emissions by 2030. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi rejected the President’s proposed global warming deal, realizing his priority should be to bring power to the hundreds of millions of Indians that lack access to electricity.
To the point: India rightly rejected part-time energy for full-time energy, as they kicked Obama’s green energy slush fund to the curb.
Not even the allure of money from air could make the Indian prime minister sell out his people.
The Numbers Speak for Themselves
With statistics like these, it’s no wonder that most of the green energy companies funded by the Obama/Biden administration went belly-up while Obama was still in office. Green energy could easily have been called ObamaFuel, reminiscent of the healthcare scheme that failed just as badly.
Between the lies of solar energy, windmill power, and this war against appliances, we will never be able to completely total up the damages from the green energy debacle. There’s only one certainty in all of this. Summer is going to leave many of us sweating bullets this year, as we try to pick between gassing up the car, putting dinner on the table, or cooling down the house. I can assure you, only the richest of the rich will be able to do all three.
