In what may be a surprise to Democrats, one of their own just threw shade at California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom.
Thus the reason I declared that Democrats are in big trouble.
First, the obvious. They selected Joe Biden. That gave Democrats all the ingredients for guaranteed failure. An incompetent legislator who lies for a living. Biden’s policy failures were an inevitable as rain in a rainforest.
Second, Biden’s personal life makes for a season of “Maury” shows. And he’s only just beginning his trials and tribulations.
Third, the conflict inside the Democratic Party makes the UFC look like a Twister party.
So it’s not secret that Democrats want Biden out. Still, some politicians play the game. And Gavin Newsom performs as on of the players. And he plays it well.
However, Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) spotted the game. And during remarks at an event in Iowa, Fetterman chided Newsom for his duplicitous scheme.
Fetterman accused Newsom of running a shadow campaign to become president, while publicly pretending to support Biden. Fetterman said,
“There are two additional Democrats running for … president right now,” Fetterman said, according to NBC News. “One is a congressman from Minnesota, the other one is the governor of California, but only one has the guts to announce it.”
Revelations like this won’t help Newsom, when he finally declares. I’ve said that unofficially officially, Newsom entered the race months ago. And his wife is fitting the White House for drapes. Howeer, officially officially, I predict Newsom’s entry into the race will come before the New year. I personally hope that Biden is still in the race when this happens, so people can see the type of person Newsom is.
As for the other Democrat in the race Fetterman mentioned, that’s Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN). He hinted at a primary challenge back in August. Then he made things official shortly thereafter. In his announcement, Phillips called for “new generation of American leaders.”
That’s a euphemistic way to say, “Biden’s too f’g old”!

Newsom claims to support Biden’s re-election bid. But anybody who knows how politics works, knows Newsom is full of it. Why debate Ron DeSantis? Why make that recent visit to China?
I agree with Fetterman that Newsom doesn’t have the guts to declare. Frankly, he thinks he will gain style points by pretending to support the worst president in history. Everything Newsom does politically caters to theatrics.
That may be the most disingenuous endorsement of a candidate I’ve ever seen.
You don’t have to be a body-language expert to see that Newsom means none of what he says. He just knows what to say to get the nomination nod.
I’m certainly no fan of Fetterman. But as I say often, reward people when they get it right. And not just when you agree with them. In this case Fetterman got it right and I agree with him.
