Abortion in America: For Any Reason

Right about the time the Pope decides to change up the conversation, we come to find out that the United States is one of 10 nations that allow abortion after 14 weeks’ gestation.

The other nations that have no problem murdering viable babies are: Canada, China, Great Britain, North Korea, the Netherlands, Singapore, Sweden, Western Australia, and Vietnam.

In a new book about Roe v. Wade entitled Abuse of Discretion, Clarke Forsythe reveals that the United States is one of four nations who perform abortions after viability for any reason. Even progressive Sweden doesn’t do that.

In the world of abortion on demand, ‘any reason’ can include: It’s not a good time; I need new carpet; It’s a boy and I want a girl; I changed my mind; I don’t like kids; and I don’t want stretch marks.

Forsythe contends:

The United States got into this situation because after the second round of arguments in Roe and Doe, the Justices abruptly decided to expand the abortion right they were creating to fetal viability—and then beyond. For forty years, this abrupt decision has had profound implications for late-term abortions, live-birth abortions, and women’s health.

It certainly has, because America now has a president who voted against the Born Alive Act four times. Seems Obama is of the opinion that caring for a child born alive in a botched abortion undermines the woman and doctor’s “original intent” to kill the baby.

Coldly explaining the rationale for the law, the president had this to say:

That if that fetus, or child, however you want to describe it, is now outside of the mother’s womb and the doctor continues to think that it’s non-viable but there’s let’s say movement or some indication that they’re not just coming out limp and dead that in fact they would then have to call in a second physician to monitor and check off and make sure that this is not a live child that could be saved.

Moving America ahead of the pack, Planned Parenthood has segued from mammograms into post-abortion murder. At a Florida hearing to promote a bill that would require that abortionists provide medical care to infants born alive during abortions, Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates lobbyist Alisa LaPolt Snow argued against giving water, warmth and oxygen to suffering human beings and insisted that post-birth abortion is a private decision between the mother and her abortionist.

So congrats to America.  When it comes to killing babies, you’re right up there with China’s one-child-only forced abortions and killing machine Dictator Kim Jong-un’s North Korea.

And if things progress according to plan and America devolves into a place where post-abortion murder becomes the norm, we’ll exceed even the most brutal of pro-abortion nations in the world.  But then again, at least we’ll be number one again at something.
