CNN Culpable: Cancel Cuomo!

The Bro Show is over. Andrew Cuomo is so guilty, he might as well spend the rest of his days smoking cigars with Bill Clinton.

Now that the report is in, it’s time for the brothers to pay the piper. Andrew Cuomo should resign, or face impeachment. And his little brother should be fired. Plain and simple. But we can’t trust CNN to do the right thing. We learned that in the era of Trump.

Journalism is a sacred calling. Or at least it used to be. Thus, in the world BT (before Trump), it was understood that journalists aren’t meant to shape politics. They’re supposed to bring the truth to the people, so that we can do the shaping with our votes. The Cuomo’s violated that covenant on every level. Together, they hoarded power and misled the public.

People died. But that wasn’t enough for public outrage. Because the Cuomos could blame covid. The scamdemic was a scapegoat. However, the party of feigned feminism can’t ignore what Andrew Cuomo did to countless women. Nor should they ignore how his little brother tried to help him shape the narrative.

Fox News reports:

The stunning revelation that CNN star Chris Cuomo advised his brother, Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, amid the growing sexual misconduct allegations was blasted by one CNN insider.

As first reported by The Washington Post, CNN admitted on Thursday that its primetime host engaged in “inappropriate” strategy meetings with the embattled governor’s team earlier this year as he faced multiple accusations of sexual harassment and unwanted touching.

The CNN insider took aim at the anchor for allegedly invoking “cancel culture” while urging his brother to stay firm in combatting the misconduct claims.

“To say it’s ‘cancel culture’ –  it’s despicable,” the insider told Fox News.

The CNN insider slammed what was perceived as a double standard of the “Cuomo Prime Time” anchor to avoid covering his scandals in recent months after inviting the governor onto his show as a hero of the coronavirus pandemic.

“It’s the height of hypocrisy for Chris to have [his brother] on there for the good news but doesn’t have him on to discuss the bad news,” the insider said. “It’s laughable for him to be so judgmental of other people for their wrongdoings and he’s sitting there enabling and coming up with excuses for someone with sexual misconduct allegations.”

Now, other journalists are weighing in on these egregious acts.

Fox News explains:

Journalist Laura Bassett wrote Tuesday for MSNBC that CNN host Chris Cuomo “should resign from covering politics or be fired” over advising his brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, D., on responding to the sexual harassment charges against him.

The call to oust another liberal primetime host in Cuomo followed New York Attorney General Letitia James’ investigation detailing multiple instances of sexual harassment by Gov. Cuomo. The explosive report included information about the younger Cuomo working behind the scenes to help his brother respond to the allegations.

“Given this information, Andrew Cuomo should resign immediately or be impeached,” Bassett wrote. “His brother, too, should resign from covering politics or be fired. It’s extremely inappropriate and unethical for a journalist to advise and craft the statements of a politician, regardless of family relation.”

Bassett pointed out past instances when CNN’s Cuomo had no trouble covering his older brother.

“Chris Cuomo has interviewed his brother on CNN multiple times about the elder Cuomo’s coronavirus response, as scores of New Yorkers were dying in a pandemic; Albany is part of his beat,” Bassett wrote. “In one interview, Chris Cuomo told Andrew Cuomo he is ‘the best politician in the country.’”

“The anchor’s attempt at a journalistic compromise was to abstain from interviewing his brother about the sexual harassment scandal. But both men’s careers have benefited greatly from their cheeky, high-profile, softball interviews during a very dark time in the nation’s history,” she added. “And viewers were largely unaware of the role Chris Cuomo was playing to help his brother behind the scenes.”

Game Changer

More than a year and a half ago, I wrote:

There’s no way Cuomo should be the next Attorney General of the United States. Between his incompetent handling of the scamdemic, the nursing home scandal, and now this- its clear Cuomo belongs behind bars. But like most leftists, he’ll barely get a slap on the wrist.

It’s taken that long for the mainstream media to truly turn on Cuomo. But better late than never. Imagine the difference it could have made when we were knee deep in the scamdemic. A whole lot of grandmas and grandpas might still be around!

Fox adds:

Bassett claimed that “fair reporting and scrutiny” of Gov. Cuomo during the time he was “lionized” by the media early in the pandemic could have been a “game changer” when it came to the nursing home scandal. Cuomo’s team is accused of covered up thousands of coronavirus deaths in nursing homes, which critics charge was a result of his directive mandating nursing homes accept COVID-positive patients.

“New Yorkers deserve better than a lying, harassing, misogynistic creep presiding over the state. And CNN’s viewers deserve better than a news anchor who is working on behalf of a politician he covers and helps to manipulate public opinion of him,” she wrote. “Both Cuomo brothers have amassed massive power and influence, while betraying public trust. And both brothers must go.”

I couldn’t have said it better myself. Now, the question is, will CNN do the right thing? I wouldn’t bet the farm on it.
