Nikki Haley Just Ended Her Run

Nikki Haley ended her challenge Trump. Even if she didn’t know it.

Of course, her career ended the moment she entered the race against her former boss. The concept was reinforced when Haley got trounced in Iowa and then again in New Hampshire.

But she’s hanging on like a hair on a biscuit. So she continues to campaign, knowing that she’s about to get crushed in her home state. She posts fake polls showing that she can beat Biden, when she can’t even beat DeSantis.

And now this.

I stopped watching SNL long ago. And boy am I glad I got that time back. Watch as Nikki Haley makes a total fool out of herself.

I get that many candidates see these shows as something they can do to change their trajectory. But that was then.

These shows are a joke. And the people who participate in them politically are jokes, as Haley demonstrated. And as jokes go, Haley was the butt of this one.

The sketch didn’t go over well at all. I won’t bother to critique her acting, because there was no acting. But I don’t know who I blame more. Nikki Haley for doing something so imbecilic, or SNL for thinking it would be funny or entertaining. It was neither.

What next for Haley? Will she go on Colbert, or grab Jimmy Kimmel by the crotch? She certainly seems to be in desperation mode for a campaign that never was.

Nothing against SNL

While SNL left me long ago, it wasn’t necessarily for its politics. There was a time when SNL made fun of all politicians universally. I remember Chevy Chase doing President Gerald Ford, and falling all over the place. But the comedy didn’t seem mean-spirited. Admittedly, I’ve seen clips of SNL making fun of Biden a time or two. But let’s face it, they could almost plan for a segment each week, based on everything happening with Biden.

All I can say is for me, SNL just became unfunny. Their attacks on politicians were personal, particularly from idiot Alec Baldwin. Funny should be funny for all. Good-natured humor pointed at Trump is par for the course. But when it’s not balanced with jokes about the other guy (a man who writes his own jokes for the comedians), then I stop watching.

Back to Haley

Clearly she is grasping straws in her appearance on the show. But if she was auditioning for a new career, I’d go back to the drawing board.

If Haley wants to continue in the race, I welcome it. She serves as a reminder that the deep state swamp rats didn’t defeat Trump. Latest polls shocked the establishment as NBC reported that Trump is now trouncing Biden.

In my unofficial poll, I haven’t seen a candidate so despised by true conservatives, until Haley. Many conservatives think of her as the “Republican Hillary Clinton”. And it’s not flattering.

Haley reminds me of Kasich, when he made his last gasps during his campaign against Trump in 2016.

Talk about dusting off brain cells to remember the antics of that clown. Kasich too hoped that something outside of his control would stop Trump. Some silver bullet that would end Trump campaign and Kasich would ride in and save us.

Obviously that never happened. And it won’t happen for Haley, though she acts like a trombone player with a pager: the forever optimist.

SNL won’t help her. And whatever she plans next won’t either, unless she officially drops out. But who am I to poo poo on a persons dreams. If Haley want to continue making a fool of herself, that’s her choice.
