The Left’s Losing War Against Elon Musk

I’ve warned Democrats before: let sleeping DOGES lie. But it seems they’re determined to poke the bear—or in this case, the billionaire tech titan—until he reaches his breaking point. And when that happens, it won’t end well for them.

Elon Musk was brought on legally by the President of the United States to tackle a job few could handle. True to form, he’s executing it with the same level of excellence that has defined his career. Yet, rather than acknowledge his achievements, the Left has chosen to attack his intelligence, character, and competence. It’s a strategy so absurd it borders on self-parody.

Take, for example, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), who recently took a swipe at Musk in a now-viral tweet:

“The dude is probably one of the most unintelligent billionaires I have ever met. Or seen. Or witnessed. Um. (laughing). Which, you know could probably even glean that from watching the people on TV.

Anyway, all of that is to say, they don’t do their homework clearly, they’re putting 19-year-olds in at the Treasury. This dude is not smart.”

Let that sink in. AOC, a politician whose most notable legislative achievement is arguably her ability to trend on Twitter, is calling Elon Musk—a man who revolutionized electric vehicles, space travel, and neural technology—“unintelligent.” The irony is almost too rich to bear.

But AOC isn’t alone in her misguided crusade. Disgraced former Congressman Jamaal Bowman has also joined the fray, lobbing a series of bizarre and baseless accusations at Musk:

BOWMAN: “That’s not true, and this shows again, the American people do not trust Elon Musk, and Elon Musk is incompetent in his position. And how do we know? Because they fired tens of thousands of people, it was challenged in court, the court said the people have to go back, and now the people are coming back. He’s incompetent, he’s a thief, he’s a nazi, and people don’t trust him.”

Bowman’s tirade is as incoherent as it is inflammatory. Accusing Musk of being a “Nazi” and a “thief” isn’t just factually incorrect—it’s defamatory. And unlike Bowman, who once pulled a fire alarm in Congress to disrupt a vote, Musk isn’t one to let such slander slide.

Musk’s response was swift and unequivocal:

It’s about time. If I were in Musk’s position, I’d have sued every last one of these critics into oblivion. But Musk has shown remarkable restraint—until now. It seems he’s finally reached the point where he’s done playing nice.

This isn’t just about defending his reputation; it’s about holding people accountable for their lies. Bowman, no longer protected by the broad exceptions to defamation law that politicians enjoy, is about to learn that lesson the hard way.

Meanwhile, the Left’s attacks on Musk have only grown more desperate. Take, for instance, the recent New York Times story claiming Musk was to be briefed on a potential war with China. Musk wasted no time debunking the report, calling it “pure propaganda” and threatening legal action against the paper’s anonymous sources.

Elon Musk has broken his silence on a New York Times report alleging he was to be briefed on a potential war with China, blasting the paper as “pure propaganda” while threatening prosecutions of the Times’ anonymous sources.

Musk was set to be briefed Friday on plans for any war the U.S. might have with China, two anonymous U.S. officials told the paper. A third said the briefing would focus on China, but did not offer details.

Replying to President Donald Trump’s Truth Social post attacking the Times storyMusk issued his own rebuke on his X platform, saying “The New York Times is pure propaganda.”

The Times has long been a mouthpiece for the establishment, but this latest stunt is a new low. By fabricating stories to undermine Musk, they’re not just attacking him—they’re attacking the truth.

What’s most baffling about all of this is the Left’s insistence on painting Musk as incompetent. This is a man who has built multiple billion-dollar companies, disrupted entire industries, and pushed the boundaries of human innovation. To call him “unintelligent” or “incompetent” is not just wrong—it’s laughable.

But perhaps that’s the point. The Left isn’t interested in facts or logic; they’re interested in narratives. And in their narrative, Musk is the villain—a convenient scapegoat for their own failures and insecurities.

The problem for them is that Musk isn’t just any villain. He’s a villain with the resources, intelligence, and determination to fight back. And as Lizzo once sang, “It’s about damn time.”

Democrats would do well to remember that when you push a man like Elon Musk to his breaking point, you’d better be ready for the consequences. Because when Musk finally decides to unleash his full power, it won’t just be a lawsuit—it’ll be a reckoning.

Let sleeping DOGES lie. Or don’t. But don’t say I didn’t warn you.
