Trump Stealing the Black Vote

President Trump broke Black activists. And he showcases his power agaisnt the Democrats’ perpetual whine machine in a multiple of ways.

And we get a perfect example where Trump jettisons a Black admirable with almost no hoopla from the usual suspects.

Then again, who can debate whether the first Black admiral under the new anti‑drug boat campaign was an affirmative‑action pick by Team Biden? Answer: nobody. Because that’s the whole point of affirmative action — it breeds doubt, suspicion, and endless second‑guessing. Unless you’re Trump.

In September 2022, Alvin Holsey was nominated for promotion to vice‑admiral by then‑President Joe Biden, and shortly thereafter assigned as the military deputy commander of U.S. Southern Command. Some time later — by July 2024 — he was apparently up for full admiral and the top post at U.S. Southern Command.

I’d bet that at least a dozen white officers and got passed over for optics of Biden giving this prestigious appointment to a Black officer.

I’m not saying there aren’t qualified Black officers out there. Of course there are. But when you elevate someone so visibly, without transparency, you make people wonder if their stripes were earned — or assigned. Personally, when I need a service — protection, loyalty, reliability — I want someone whose record says “earned,” not “selected for representation.”

Once upon a time, Black men built reputations on duty, honesty, and muscle.

If a white farmer needed his tractor fixed or a fair hand in a deal, he turned to a Black man. That was the unspoken creed: under‑promise, over‑deliver. Our work reflected not just on us — but on all of us.

But that was then. Now, far too often, Black Leftists ride the coattails of others’ grit. They want credit without effort — and they expect legacy over labor. A prime example of this happened during the Gulf War.

I had no faith in General Colin Powell. That dude might as well had been Sergeant Schultz from Hogan’s Heroes. If you review footage of press conferences, Powell looked like a guy reading reports, rather than the general running the show. He looked authoritative. However, the astute could recognize the “style over substance”, and his fear of being found out.

By contrast, I trusted General Schwarzkopf. That stocky white man made me feel like we could win any war. His presence was felt in every briefing. He was more than knowledgeable, and hands on with the war. Powell? Clearly a figurehead. Window dressing.

So when Secretary of War Pete Hegseth slammed the door on Admiral Holsey — I didn’t shed a tear.

According to a recent report from Mediaite, Hegseth asked Holsey to retire in October, allegedly after Holsey voiced doubts about the legality of lethal strikes on suspected drug‑trafficking boats in the Caribbean.

Holsey had been the commander of U.S. Southern Command — but suddenly, he was gone. One Pentagon source reportedly recalled Hegseth saying, “You’re either on the team or you’re not. When you get an order, you move out fast and don’t ask questions.”

The public storyline is that Holsey worried about “murky legal authority” for the boat‑strike campaign, and balked at parts of the mission falling “outside his direct control.”

But was that the real reason for his exit? I doubt it. The same report notes Hegseth suspected Holsey might have been leaking to the press. I’d put money on Holsey being the leaker — hoping that his “moral high ground” would shield him from the axe. Spoiler: it didn’t.

This isn’t about legality. It’s about control. It’s a purge disguised as disciplinary action. Biden installs a Black face. Hegseth cleans house. And just like that, the optics get scrubbed.

I love that Trump’s team doesn’t care about petty optics. Biden put Holsey in for optics. Hegseth saw through it — and didn’t care. Either way, the message is clear: Do your job better than anyone else. Or get out.

Holsey got a chance to prove himself. He didn’t. For that, the Left will paint him as a martyr. But he’s anything but that.

Why this matters — beyond the headlines

This isn’t just a personnel shake‑up. It’s a warning shot to anyone questioning the chain of command. It’s a lesson for the ideologues: conformity trumps conscience — even in the military. Hegseth just reset the rules: dissent, even if it’s legal concern or moral hesitation, will be met with a pink slip.

If you were looking for nuance, you won’t find it here. The Left builds for optics, real men build for results. And real men don’t toss people for asking questions. They toss them for insubordination. And Trump doesn’t care about the optics of race. Be the best or be gone.
