Nothing pisses me off more than being told what to do. And that’s just what Liberals do: tell you what to do…or think.
I read an article, by “Christian” writer Scott Dannemiller, and he is upset that people of faith say,
“I was blessed with a new [insert blessing here]!”
Like, I was blessed with a new car, a new job, and so on.
The writer implies that “I’m blessed” is overworked, much like Tim Tebow taking a knee in the end zone, or other athletes pointing to Heaven.
But the part that bothers me about the article, is the guilt that Dannemiller wants Americans to feel for their material blessings.
He writes:
“…calling myself blessed because of material good fortune is just plain wrong. For starters, it can be offensive to the hundreds of millions of Christians in the world who live on less than $10 per day. You read that right. Hundreds of millions who receive a single-digit dollar “blessing” per day.”
Americans are BLESSED to live in this country.
I have written extensively on the fact that I’m ecstatic to have NOT been born on the continent of Africa, which are my obvious roots. I’m not African-America; I am ALL-American. I thank GOD I was blessed to have my DNA assembled on the continent of North America, specifically in the U.S. and NOT Canada.
It was a matter of chance that I am American, and the journey that brought me here happened hundreds of years ago, likely causing my ancestors a lot of grief. But like Joseph, the slave who later saved Egypt, whatever my forefathers went through to get me where I am, it was worth it!
And the fact that many Americans have created wonderful and bountiful lives is not at the expense of the people who live on less than $10 a day. The implication of that author is that we are at fault.
Further, he implies that living on $10 a day means that those poor people don’t have blessings. If you live on $10 and day, and you find $5, that is a BLESSING!
I’ve been there! I remember thinking once that I would not make payroll for my employees years ago, and I was flat broke. I went to the bank, knowing that I had less than $100, and needed to make a payroll of $7,000.
The teller informed me I had $10,000 in the bank. THAT was a blessing, because I knew to the dollar what we had in that account, and the money that I needed was there.
Not that long ago, I had $8 in my bank account, and my Netflix bill didn’t rob me of my final bit of money…THAT was a blessing that saved me $35 in NSF fees!
This writer is a misguided Christian who is suffers from Liberalism. He forgets that Americans suffer in our own ways daily, and even so we donate disproportionately to help those people living on $10 per day more than any other “blessed” nations. This is why I won’t allow a fool to try to send me on a snipe hunt or a guilt trip.
I am BLESSED!
America is blessed.
The question is, under the scourge Liberal leadership, how long will America remain blessed.
