Trump Donates ALL Gains from Foreign Entities to Charity
The left accuses Trump and his administration of many wrong doings. These include allegations of Trump only wanting the presidency to further his own financial gain.
But have you ever seen a so-called selfish egotistical maniac give so much back to the American people? And now Trump’s most recent financial move blows an even bigger hole in the Democrats’ theory.
Recently it was reported that the Trump organization voluntarily gave away all their earning from foreign governments to the United States Treasury.
The Trump Organization made a voluntary payment of $151,470 to the Department of the Treasury to keep a promise that the company would not benefit from foreign government payments while Donald Trump is president.
The check represents the net profits the Trump Organization — which includes both the president’s Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla., and the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. — made from doing business with foreign leaders for Trump’s first year in office, Eric Trump, executive vice president of the company, told The Daily Mail.
“Our donation to the treasury was voluntary and one that I am very proud of,” Trump said. “Although we are not legally obligated to do this, we have pledged to account for all profits from foreign government business at our hotels and clubs and have donated that money back to the United States of America.”
In the past recent leftist watchdog groups have sued the Trump administration claiming Trump has not fully divorced himself from his business. Moreover, they accused him of profiting off of foreign donations.
The group, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a nonprofit legal watchdog group initiated a lawsuit back in 2017:
The complaint, filed this year in the Southern District of New York, said that Mr. Trump’s failure to divorce himself from his businesses had harmed companies or workers who compete against his restaurants or hotels in New York or Washington. By taking advantage of his official position, the lawsuit said, Mr. Trump violated clauses of the Constitution that prohibit a president from accepting any government-bestowed benefits, or emoluments, either at home or abroad.
But the lawsuit was quickly shot down as a judge ruled the Trump’s and their organizations hasn’t violated the Constitution in any way and that the increase of interest in Trump properties is only natural now that he’s president.
The Trump properties have become very popular with foreign groups, and rightfully so. Trump properties epitomize luxury.
And, the company has hosted numerous parties over the past year. For example, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia spent $270,000 at the Trump Hotel in D.C. between the 2016 election and the end of March.
Yet the Trumps haven’t kept any of those earnings. Additionally, since taking office, President Trump has been donating his quarterly salary to initiatives of national significance.
In the first quarter, President Trump donated his salary to the Department of Interior. The funds went to the National Park Service to aid in its goal of preserving our country’s national security.
His second-quarter salary were donated to the Department of Education. The funds will be used to host a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)-focused camp for students.
Next, President Trump donated his third-quarter salary to the Department of Health and Human Services, to help the agency combat the opioid epidemic.
“His decision to donate his salary is a tribute to this compassion, to his patriotism and his sense of duty to the American people,” said HHS acting secretary Eric Hargan, who attended the White House daily press briefing.
Considering all Trump has sacrificed financially and given away since becoming president, one would think the press could manage one positive story about him. Further, President Trump passed his giving on to the American public by way of his massive tax cuts. We all know how this initiative was received by the Left, despite the tax cuts generating the most money ever collected by the Treasury.
In was estimated early on that President Trump lost over $1 billion when he became president. Leftists beamed over the notion. But Barack Obama found the pot of gold during his presidency. Few can argue that Obama enriched himself greatly as president, and that continues in the aftermath.
