Trump Calls Russia Story a “Con Job”

President Trump is a master of colloquialism. He uses regular words to describe regular things. And he crushes the Democrats.

For example, he calls infiltration of his campaign “spying”, not “surveillance”.

Democrats can quibble over the nuance, but Trump knows what happened. And now so does the public.

Further, when he called the Russian investigation a “witch hunt”, he set the new narrative. And rightfully so. Trump knew Democrats set up the phony investigation to cover their tracks. He would not allow them to “brand” the farce as a legitimate investigation. Thus, he repeatedly called the farce what it was: a witch hunt.

Trending: Worst Poll for Democrats in YEARS

Once Special Counsel Mueller released his report, the witch hunt ended. Democrats were privvy to the results of the report prior to release, thus they tried a new spin. Ergo, a new phase of subterfuge began.

Democrats demanded information on 81 new Trump associates. As if 2 years and $30 million with a stacked anti-Trump deck didn’t unearth these people.

But the president shifted his language accordingly. He chose his colloquialism carefully, calling the new phase of Democrats’ activities a “con job”.

As AP reported:

The president isn’t waiting. As Washington counts down the final hours until publication of the redacted special counsel report — now expected Thursday — Donald Trump stepped up his attacks in an effort to undermine potential disclosures on Russia, his 2016 campaign and the aftermath.

He unleashed a series of tweets Monday focusing on the previously released summary of special counsel Robert Mueller’s conclusions — including a crucial one on obstruction of justice that Trump again misrepresented — produced by Attorney General William Barr.

“Mueller, and the A.G. based on Mueller findings (and great intelligence), have already ruled No Collusion, No Obstruction,” Trump tweeted. “These were crimes committed by Crooked Hillary, the DNC, Dirty Cops and others! INVESTIGATE THE INVESTIGATORS!”

Press secretary Sarah Sanders repeatedly tried to make the same case on TV talk shows on Sunday. But the political battle is far from finished over the special counsel’s investigation of Russian efforts to help Trump in 2016 and whether there was cooperation with his campaign.

“No obstruction, no collusion.”

Trump knows how to brand. And having the truth on one’s side helps. Trump now shifts from defense to offense.

The article continues,

Trump and his allies also continue to attack the origins of the Russia investigation, portraying it as an effort by Democrats and career officials in the Justice Department to bring him down.

“Any aspect of that report, I hope it does come out because there was no collusion, whatsoever, no collusion,” Trump told Minneapolis TV station KSTP while there on Monday. “It was a big con job and everybody knows it...The crime was committed by the other side. This crime was all made up, it was all a fabrication and that’s come out loud and clear.”

Democrats will find out that it’s a lot easier to let the cat out of the bag than to get it back in.

Trump will be relentless, as he should be. He chose the words “con job”, because everybody recognizes the con. That term will reach to the base of the Democrats, whom Trump has exposed like no other.

Unquestionably, Democrats run scared like no other time in politics. Check all social media, and for the most part there is almost complete silence.

Here are Schiff’s tweets. They look like the rants of a desperate man.

The first tweet attempts to impugn Barr and Mueller. Keep in mind that these two legal minds met to discuss Mueller’s report. So Barr knows more about it than anybody except Mueller. Yet Schiff tweets:

Bill Barr sent a letter purporting to summarize Mueller’s conclusions.

He took it upon himself to reach a conclusion on obstruction.

He adopted the President’s “spying” smears.

Now, he will spin a report no one has read.

My advice: Wait to read Mueller’s words for yourself.

When Barr called a presser, Schiff lost his “schitt”. He tweeted:

Just been informed by DOJ that we’ll receive Mueller’s report only after Barr gives a press conference.

Once again, Barr wants to shape the public’s perception of the report.

This is on top of reports DOJ secretly briefed the White House.

This is not justice. Just PR.

Undoubtedly the most desperate involves Robert Mueller. I guess it’s time to kill the messenger.

Schiff tweeted:

The House Intelligence Committee has formally invited Special Counsel Mueller to testify on the counterintelligence investigation.

After a two year investigation, the public deserves the facts, not Attorney General Barr’s political spin.

Do you sense the desperation? If so, then you’re not looking hard, because the desperation is IN YOUR FACE!

Schiff is losing it. Calling Mueller to testify won’t help his cause. Actually it will hurt his cause.

It’s like the scene in A Few Good Men when Demi Moore’s character objects “strenuously” to something overruled twice before.

Watching Schiff will be a blast over the remainder of the year.
