There’s an old saying, “if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” Apparently, democrats hold on to those words despite their many failures.
Maybe it’s time we change it up and say “if at first you don’t succeed, try something else.” Because these liberals keep barking up the same old fruitless tree.
Sunday, the NYTimes jumped the gun. Their supposed bombshell piece insinuated Justice Kavanaugh was wrongfully cleared of being a grade A asshole, and that, in fact he is a womanizing creep.
Perhaps they had Kavanaugh confused with Joe Biden, I’m not really sure. But I do know within less than 24 hours, the Times had to do some major retracting.
Of course, they didn’t recall their shoddy journalism until AFTER democrats used the article to demand Kavanaugh’s impeachment.
In fact, just watch as Beto O’Rourke pretends to stand on the moral high ground.
Honestly, the blatant spread of lies of such magnitude as this should warrant a criminal investigation. But we know what happens to lying leftists.
Nothing.
Still, it’s quite fishy when you consider the timing. First, the democrats third debate delivered depressing results. Democrats are sinking fast. They’re desperate for a lifeline. So what do they do? They dig out the big iWord= impeachment.
There’s only one problem. Impeachment August was already a bust.
As we previously explained:
Just one month ago, twelve groups banded together in hopes of working to achieve a common goal: impeach President Trump.
They even gave themselves a 30 day deadline. But here we are, starting September, and once again liberals fell flat on their faces.
When are these leftists going to realize they are no match for Trump? The goal was to get districts behind impeachment during the August brake, when Congress is home with their constituents. And in a pathetic show of support, only one district stepped forward publicly to back impeachment.
Imagine the liberal who came up with their next move. I picture them sitting in a frenzied meeting, running low on coffee and high on anxiety when some poor schmo hollers “I’ve got it, we’ll impeach Kavanaugh.”
And because that worked so well in the past, the rest of the bleeding heart liberals were quick to jump on board. Somewhere in this crowd, someone had an “in” at the New York Times. Thus, their chop job appeared to be a bomb shell report.
Only, this accusation is no Harvey Weinstein expose. It leans much closer to a Russian collusion fantasy. Only, the truth crashed down much faster this time.
The Retraction
In an effort to cover their asses, the Times already “updated” their story.
Fox News elaborates:
The New York Times suddenly made a major revision to a supposed bombshell piece late Sunday concerning a resurfaced allegation of sexual assault by Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh — hours after virtually all 2020 Democratic presidential candidates had cited the original article as a reason to impeach Kavanaugh.
The update included the significant detail that several friends of the alleged victim said she did not recall the purported sexual assault in question at all. The Times also stated for the first time that the alleged victim refused to be interviewed, and has made no comment about the episode.
The only firsthand statement concerning the supposed attack in the original piece, which was published on Saturday, came from a Clinton-connected lawyer who claimed to have witnessed it.
A Clinton connection! Surprise, surprise!
The Times’ revision says: “Editors’ Note: An earlier version of this article, which was adapted from a forthcoming book, did not include one element of the book’s account regarding an assertion by a Yale classmate that friends of Brett Kavanaugh pushed his penis into the hand of a female student at a drunken dorm party. The book reports that the female student declined to be interviewed and friends say that she does not recall the incident. That information has been added to the article.”
The update came only after The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway, who reviewed an advance copy of the book, first flagged the article’s omission on Twitter — prompting other commentators to press the issue.
This whole story wreaks of desperation.
In fact, I’m betting no one really thought this through. Because messing with a Supreme Court Justice has one glaring implication leftists seem to ignore.
Kavanaugh is a well-educated lawyer. This man knows the law inside and out. Kavanaugh is well-aware of the criteria for slander or defamation of character, and he knows how to get justice in a courtroom. Thus, I smell a libel lawsuit coming on.
Considering this legal premise,
-
- The defendant made a false and defamatory statement concerning the plaintiff;
- The defendant made an unprivileged publication to a third party; and.
- The publisher acted at least negligently in publishing the communication.
it’s a slam dunk for Kavanaugh.
