Supreme Court Shakeup: Justice to Retire?

While Conservatives have the upper hand with the Supreme Court, Leftists keep their fingers crossed.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg hangs on to her job like a hair on a biscuit. But my bet is she won’t last 4 more years. Will Conservative judges?

Frankly, I’d like to see younger, Conservative judges on the court. I love our OGs (original gangstas), particularly my friend Justice Clarence Thomas. That man set the standard for pragmatic, conservative juris prudence. But he’s going nowhere.

I can assure you that Justice Thomas will be carried out of the Supreme Court on a gurney. He actually told me this himself. I breathed a sigh of relief, as I hope the man serves another hundred years. But we must be vigilant about all the justices.

Thomas notwithstanding, it’s good to know when to throw in the towel. And according to The Washington Examiner, Justice Samuel Alito may be considering this:

Conservative Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito may be eyeing retirement.

The “stronger rumor” is that Alito is “going to quit,” conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt told Washington Post reporter Robert Costa on his show Wednesday.

He mentioned this in response to Costa’s report that said aides to President Trump believe Clarence Thomas, a conservative justice appointed by President George H.W. Bush, is the justice most likely to retire this year.

“Justice Thomas will never quit,” Hewitt added.

I’m skeptical of these stories. Because when I met with Justice Thomas 5 years ago, there were rumors of his retirement. He assured me that he NEVER had a conversation about retiring.

I believe these stories are lazy journalists speculating.

Justice Alito was appointed by George W. Bush in 2005. The Associate Justice replaced Sandra Day O’Connor. I must say, Alito has been stellar in his views, a staunch defender of the Constitution. At least Bush chose one justice correctly, because Roberts is a bust.

After Trump’s re-election we will know a lot more. If Alito is to retire, that’s when he would do it. When Democrats are the most demoralized and Trump is at his most powerful. Then we can focus on Ginsburg.

Democrats continue to have prayer vigils for her. And on November 4, you can bet more Democrats will renew their relationship with God, as they pray for Ginsburg to survive four more years.
