Democrats can’t keep a lid on their fears forever. And now we get news that Bernie Sanders publicly worries about Biden’s ability to beat Trump.
Like we didn’t know it? Still, I like Leftists admitting the truth. Because it rarely happens.
According to The Washington Post, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt) fears that Joe Biden is in danger of losing to President Donald. This is according to three sources.
For Sanders, Biden wants to play up his appeal to centrist voters. Thus, he’s not trying to placate the progressives.
Keep in mind that this rumor is from “anonymous sources”. However, in this case I certainly believe them. Why? Because look at what AOC did at the Democratic National Convention, Captain Obvious.
As Biden courted the radical Leftist vote, he failed. And Biden failed because there is no way to satisfy the radical Leftist vote. Further, these people will never vote for Biden, even if asked to hold their noses to do so.
They won’t engage and they certainly won’t vote. And no amount of strong-arming them by Sanders will change their minds. Heck, Trump doesn’t even need his stellar campaign ads. But they’re so much fun to watch. So we’ll take them.
Nevertheless, Sanders’ campaign manager Faiz Shakir told the Post that Sanders is “working as hard as he can” to help Biden make strategic adjustments, including the need for “stronger outreach to young people, the Latino community, and the progressive movement.”
“Sen. Sanders is confident that Joe Biden is in a very strong position to win this election, but nevertheless feels there are areas the campaign can continue to improve upon,” Shakir told the Post. “He has been in direct contact with the Biden team and has urged them to put more emphasis on how they will raise wages, create millions of good paying jobs, lower the cost of prescription drugs and expand healthcare coverage.”
Nice talking points. But the enthusiasm gap widens daily between Biden and those he wishes to get to the ballot box. To be blunt: Biden enthuses no group. His followers are lukewarm at best.
So Sanders’ comments to anonymous sources merely state the obvious. He and the Democrats have major reasons to fear a Biden loss to Trump. Seriously, they should discipline the idea to avoid getting their hopes up, sort of like 2016. (Only this will be bigger.)
Trump kicked Hillary Clinton’s ass and she was a far better opponent than Biden. Also, she had Obama on her side, running a crooked Department of Justice-sponsored attempted political murder of Donald Trump. Add to this the Republican establishment revolt against Trump and you get an idea of how miraculous his win was.
Frankly, when I consider these factors, I wonder how I could be so adamant about Trump’s win. Still, I predicted it.
And I’ve done the same for Trump in 2020. Trump will serve a second term. And he will most likely have the House and Senate. If this occurs, the next four years will be a renaissance for America. A welcome one at that.
