Involved Parents Labeled “Terrorists,” Then Targeted

I spent about five years serving as the president of the PTO at the school district my children attend. And I know the one thing we did our best to do was cultivate involved parents.

There’s an old saying. A child only educated at school is an uneducated child. Yet schools continue to point to lacking parental involvement as a challenge they face.

According to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), Given a list of concerns that might impede parent involvement in schools, schools indicated to what extent they perceived that each was a barrier. Among the parent-centered barriers, the highest percentage of schools perceived lack of time on the part of parents as a barrier to a great or moderate extent (87 percent) . So why on earth would being an involved parent suddenly be a bad thing?

Apparently, in this climate of leftism, participating in your child’s education can leave you labeled a “domestic terrorist” and land you on some pretty disturbing lists.

According to FNN:

Newly released internal emails reveal that the National School Boards Association coordinated with the White House and the Department of Justice before sending President Biden the notorious letter that compared concerned parents to domestic terrorists. Emails provided to Fox News show that NSBA had coordinated with the White House for weeks beforehand.

Viola Garcia, the NSBA president whom the Department of Education later named to a federal board, sent a memo to NSBA members on Oct. 11 (but dated Oct. 12), providing a timeline of the NSBA’s interaction with the White House ahead of the letter to Biden, which the NSBA sent on Sept. 29.

Five days later, on Oct. 4, the DOJ issued a memo directing law enforcement to investigate threats to school boards. On Oct. 22, the NSBA issued an apology for the letter.

“Concern over the current climate for school board members is also a top priority as disruptions at school board meetings grow and members face growing threats,” Garcia wrote at the time, according to the memo obtained by Parents Defending Education through a Freedom of Information Act request. “NSBA has been actively engaged with the White House, Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Education, Surgeon General, and other federal agencies on pandemic related issues.”

Threats to Schoolboard Members?

Surprise, surprise. The word “pandemic” is part of this mess. Apparently, parents don’t like the Nazi regime that uses the WuFlu as an excuse to control children. From mask mandates to social distancing, the ridiculousness is outrageous to many parents. Especially considering the likeliness of children catching, spreading, or dying from covid.

I’ve seen viral schoolboard meetings go down since the quarantine came to an end. But don’t let these leftists fool you. It’s not just the WuFlu bringing out the ignorance in these schoolboard members. There are much more egregious assaults happening on our school campuses.

I recently wrote of a student raped in the bathroom of her school.

It’s amazing just how many things parents have to worry about. Reading levels, school supplies, competent teachers, over-crowded classrooms- these are the everyday concerns. Then there are the chances of school shootings, pedophiles disguised as school employees, bullying, and shockingly, rape in the bathroom. These are the things we should never have to think about.

Unfortunately, that’s not the way life goes. Now, not only are students raped on campus, but schools are so afraid of the optics regarding LGBTQ, they’re willing to cover up serious crimes.

At least that’s what happened to one Virginia student, and her dad isn’t taking it lying down. In fact, he went viral after being dragged out of a Louden County School Board meeting.

Scott Smith was outraged with his 15-year-old daughter was raped by a 14-year-old trans boy in the girls’ bathroom at Stone Bridge High School. Not only is the crime itself viscous, and traumatic, but the school tried to play it off as “no big deal.”

In fact, school officials didn’t even use the word “rape.” Instead, they called it a “physical altercation” in the restroom. Like a little fight over lip gloss? A simple push and shove between girls?

Of course, when he arrived at the school, Smith learned the horrific truth. Not only was his daughter brutally raped, but the school hoped the situation could be handled “in house.” They didn’t even notify police.

This is the kind of dad that is now termed a “domestic terrorist.” Turns out, the perpetrator was a repeat offender. The school failed to protect their other students, or to aid in the quest for justice. But by all means, let’s fault the dad who got a little upset about the way his daughter’s education was unfolding.

Unfortunately, school’s now seek retaliation against parents who vocalize concerns!

In another shocking twist, parents in Scottsdale, Arizona refuse to settle for anything less than the resignation of their school board president.

FNN explains:

The president, or possibly his father, appears to have kept a dossier on 47 parents who dared to speak out against his policies at school board meetings — a dossier complete with Social Security numbers, background checks, a divorce paper, mortgage documents, trade certifications, and screenshots of Facebook posts.

“I’d call this retaliation,” Amy Carney, a mother of six and candidate for the Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) governing board, told Fox News on Thursday. She said “the list of parents targeted in the drive appears to be anyone who has spoken out about anything against our district publicly or online.”

So here we have another dossier aimed at targeting conservatives. I’d expect nothing less from these extreme leftists trying to run the country. Next thing you know we’ll be targeted for eating at Chick-Fil-A, shopping at Hobby Lobby, or buying a My Pillow. But rest assured, this targeting won’t end conservatives standing up for the good of the country. Especially when it involves our children.
