That quote from renowned author Martha Stout reveals her grasp on the true nature of her subject. To wit, when sociopathic tendencies are in place, every end is justifiable, and all the means to that end are but collateral damage.
Over the last several years there has been an indistinguishable rise in Leftist policies that challenge all societal norms. Besides seeking to destroy democracy as we know it, these policies have avoided blatantly targeting
children, until recently. Pushing puberty blockers and Drag Queen Storytime have both paled in comparison to this.
A new law being introduced into Virginia legislation seeks to imprison parents for simply not affirming the gender their child has chosen. In retaliation for newly elected Governor Glen Youngkin’s policies concerning “trans youth,” Democratic Virginia Delegate Elizabeth Guzman has decided to take matters into her own hands.
A recent report on ABCNews 7-on your side entitled, “Va. Parents could face abuse charges for NOT affirming their LGBTQ child under new bill,” addresses how Virginia parents may soon face misdemeanor or even felony charges for not rubber stamping their own children’s chosen opposite sexual orientation or gender identity.
Staff writer Nick Minock reports the following details:
“The day that Gov. Youngkin wanted to implement this policy, I immediately texted the policy lead of that committee and said, this is how we’re going to push back,” Guzman told 7News. Guzman is a social worker and she’s planning on reintroducing a bill in Richmond that she said would help protect LGBTQ children from their parents and guardians who are not affirming of their child’s sexual orientation and gender identity. Her bill would expand the state’s definition of child abuse and neglect to include parents who do not affirm their child’s gender identity or sexual orientation.
“If the child shares with those mandated reporters, what they are going through, we are talking about not only physical abuse or mental abuse, what the job of that mandated reporter is to inform Child Protective Services
(CPS),” Guzman told 7News. “And then that’s how everybody gets involved. There’s also an investigation in place that is not only from a social worker but there’s also a police investigation before we make the decision that there is going to be a CPS charge.”
“What could the penalties be if the investigation concludes that a parent is not affirming of their LGBTQ child? What could the consequences be?” 7News Reporter Nick Minock asked Guzman on Thursday. “Well, we first have to complete an investigation,” Guzman answered. “It could be a felony, it could be a misdemeanor, but we know that CPS charge could harm your employment, could harm their education, because nowadays many people do
a CPS database search before offering employment.”
Be advised, America! This did not just happen overnight.
What we have seen over the recent years is the fruition of the seeds of dissension, discord and division planted every time we feign ignorance and choose apathy concerning the flashing warning signs all around us. Every time we vote the “party line,” no matter where a candidate stands or what he/she plans or proposes, our children and our families lose.
Each time we move the goalposts to achieve our successes, and color outside the lines to ensure the means justify our ends, regardless of what we say, we clearly have our own best interests at heart. Despite how it looks, the tyrannical, Orwellian plans we see playing out in other cities hundreds of miles away did not start there and will not end there.
Guzman was not the first, nor will she be the last. In other words, as far-fetched and as beyond the pale as they may seem, those policies will soon be coming to a state and school district near you.
November is coming.
