Don Lemon on the Chopping Block at CNN

I find the irony hysterical. Women will bring diva Don Lemon to his knees.

Former Governor of South Carolina and longshot Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley enticed Don Lemon to reveal his hatred of women. Correction: older woman.

Here is the clip.

Lemon’s comments amaze me on multiple levels.

First, the stupidity of the statement in general. I don’t know a single conservative man who would make a statement so blatantly sexist and equally idiotic. Defining when a woman is in her prime?

If you say that women in their 50s are not optimal for bearing children, I can go with that. But like men, women are beautiful across the entire age spectrum. And like women, men are not optimal fathers in their 50s.

Second, note how Lemon attempted to cover up his feelings about 50ish and over women by blaming “studies”.

Lemon declared, [pp] “Just Google it”!

I laughed when I heard him say this. As if a study (that doesn’t exist) would cover his well-worn ass? Google had no answer for Lemon, as his co-host chided back. More on that in a bit.

Third, Lemon’s de facto manner in which he made his declaration showcased his security to say whatever he wants. As long as he targeted a non-Leftist woman, that is.

Part of me believes that Lemon thought his two co-hosts would gladly join in to declare Nikki Haley unfit to serve, since she is after all…a Conservative spinster.

This leads me to my fourth point. Why didn’t Don Lemon offer this same criticism of Hillary Clinton when she ran for president? Or Speaker Pelosi? Or Dianne Feinstein?! How long did these Leftist dames go past their expiration dates?

Two Leftist Women

Although it was Nikki Haley who unwittingly chided Lemon into making the biggest gaffe of his career, I love the additional #MeToo irony. Lemon was and continues to be embattled with one of his co-host for the new morning show. But with his latest comment, he added his other co-host to the list.

The New York Post explains the problems between the hosts.

Don Lemon’s sexist rant about Nikki Haley on Thursday turned the stomachs of his co-anchors and added to pressure on CNN boss Chris Licht to dump the acid-tongued host, The Post has learned.

A furious Poppy Harlow walked off the “CNN This Morning” set following a tense exchange with Lemon after he said the GOP presidential candidate was “not in her prime,” according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

One of the sources said Harlow took a “well-timed” bathroom break and was followed into the restroom by co-host Kaitlan Collins — who recently had her own run-in with Lemon.

The tense relationship among Lemon, Collins and Harlow has “been smoldering for months,” the source added.

Don gets the day off

As the New York Post explained, Lemon got the day off.

Don Lemon was conspicuously absent from “CNN This Morning” on Friday just 24 hours after he put his foot in his mouth with a sexist comment about 51-year-old Nikki Haley being “not in her prime” — prompting co-host Poppy Harlow to walk off the set.

Friday morning’s awkward broadcast started with a short clip featuring Harlow — who is on location in Salt Lake City, where she is covering NBA All-Star weekend festivities — interviewing TNT’s star basketball commentators Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith.

The camera then panned to co-host Kaitlan Collins, who was seated next to Audie Cornish, the former National Public Radio journalist who was sitting in for the 56-year-old Lemon.

“Don has the day off,” Collins said at the top of the broadcast, failing to elaborate on Lemon’s absence — much less mentioning Thursday’s disastrous blowup — as she introduced Cornish.

CNN will fire Don Lemon soon.

I’m actually surprised they moved him from his evening show to mornings. One can only bet they feared firing him due to ADA issues related to his statue as LGBTQ? High-profile companies can’t fire black and gays, and certainly not black gays without repercussion. That said, Lemon won’t be at CNN long.

First, the new CEO of CNN will move Lemon to some obscure timespot that interferes with Lemon’s life. Next, Lemon will quit.

Lemon brought this situation on himself. When he shifted his evening show to criticize Trump and his supporters all the time, Lemon thought he had the formula. Moreover, he continued this nonsense as his ratings dropped precipitously, month after month.

Licht threw Lemon a lifeline because he didn’t want to be sued. It was only a matter of time before Lemon would show his true self.

The apology?

Lemon tweeted out a so-called apology Thursday after he sparked outrage for saying Nikki Haley was not “in her prime”. However, Lemon did not mention Nikki Haley by name, nor did he put the word “sorry” in his so-called apology.

“The reference I made to a woman’s ‘prime’ this morning was inartful and irrelevant, as colleagues and loved ones have pointed out, and I regret it,” Lemon wrote in his tweet.

“A woman’s age doesn’t define her either personally or professionally. I have countless women in my life who prove that every day.”

This was not an apology. It was a “cover my ass” tweet and that’s all. Lemon does not respect women. He tolerates them, as most divas do.

By nature of his sexuality Lemon believes himself to be a better woman than actual women. When you consider his position on this, as well as the controversy swirling around the transgender issue, you can see that the LGBTQ may have picked a fight they can’t win.

Will the #MeToo movement seize on this?
