The REAL Problem for Democrats in Hunter Biden’s Gun Charge

Things will get serious for them.

There is much bigger news than Hunter Biden’s indictment on this gun charge.

We know Biden’s Department of Injustice faked an investigation and offered a plea deal that could have been stamped with “Democrat White Privilege”. Although that last deal would have granted Biden almost complete immunity, a bigger problem looms.

The optics of that decision created massive issues for Joe “The Big Guy” Biden. And now we get the real indictment of Hunter Biden on gun charges which opens a can of worms few will see.

Biden is accused of lying about his drug use when he bought a firearm in October 2018, a period when he has acknowledged struggling with addiction to crack cocaine, according to the indictment filed in federal court in Delaware.

President Joe Biden’s son has also been under investigation for his business dealings. The special counsel overseeing the case has indicated that charges of failure to pay taxes on time could be filed in Washington or in California, where he lives.

Like all things related to the Bidens, the indictment remains sealed; at least for the moment.

However, we know a little. Based on the Status Report filed by the DOJ last week, the statutes under which they are charging Biden are Title 18, United States Code Sections 922(g)(3)and 924(a)(2) (2018). Section 922 deals with Hunter Biden’s substance abuse:

(g)It shall be unlawful for any person—

(1)

who has been convicted in any court of, a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year;

(2)

(3)

who is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance (as defined in section 102 of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 802));

Section 924(a) [below] references back to Section 922(a)(6) is as to making false statements in the attempt to acquire a firearm.

(2)

Whoever knowingly violates subsection (a)(6), (h), (i), (j), or (o) of section 922 shall be fined as provided in this title, imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both.

So what’s the Democrats’ major problem?

Do you know how many black people have gun charges brought against them? This report from Duke University offers some insight.

In addition to an increase in arrests, arrests for unlawful use of a weapon “UUW” are also much more likely to involve Black individuals than are arrests for other crimes; in 2019, 42% of all people arrested for weapon offenses in the United States were Black, while Blacks accounted for 37% of all arrests for serious violent crimes and 26% of arrests for all other offenses.[15]

One can see the potential backlash should Hunter Biden beat the rap.

The report continues, highlighting Cook County:

Again, trends in arrests for illegal possession of a firearm offenses likely differ from state to state, and community to community, as does the degree to which Blacks are overrepresented among those arrested. Research in Illinois found that while total statewide arrests for illegal firearm possession increased 70% between 2014 and 2019, specifically in Chicago (and Cook County) arrests for these offenses increased 85%, with much larger (and smaller) percent changes seen across other large jurisdictions in the state.[16]

(…)

In terms of the race of those arrested in Illinois, 79% of those arrested in Chicago (Cook County) were Black, compared to 54% of those arrested in the rest of Illinois for this offense being Black.[17]

An even finer point, to illustrate the specific population most impacted by arrests for illegal firearm possession in Chicago (Cook County): 79% were Black, 92% were male, and 52% were between the ages of 18 and 24 (i.e., young, Black men).

Here is something to consider when evaluating black men “catching a case” for gun possession.

If you aren’t strapped, i.e. in possession of a gun in many black neighborhoods, then you are a victim. Not only must the average male between 18-24 possess a firearm, he’d better flaunt it. People need to know you have a weapon, so they leave you alone. Firearm possession for many black men is mandatory; it’s about survival.

But not for Hunter Biden. He is nowhere near any danger. Hunter scoffed at the law, because he could. And if he gets away with it, all those black men who “caught a case” won’t be happy.

Polls show that this demographic of voter favors Trump. They see first-hand the dual system of justice is not limited to them. But can be used to target billionaire white Republicans.

If that’s the case, nobody’s safe.
