What will the media report, when they don’t have Trump to kick around anymore? We will have to wait at least 4 more years to find out.
The Left must consider a few things about the future. Like Trump winning all his court battles. Currently two of Trump’s tormentors have major problems of their own. Jack Smith will be lucky to keep his law license, as well Fani Willis. Anybody think Letitia James and Alvin Bragg have no skeletons?
And because Leftists overhype everything involving Trump, when the dust settles, Trump comes out unscathed, while Leftists look like scorched earth.
At the first of the year, Joe Biden blasted out of the gate with more “Trump will destroy the democracy” nonsense. Retread of a strategy that failed in 2023. And it failed because Americans know the people really trying to destroy “democracy” which is actually a constitutional republic. It’s Democrats.
Political shows all over the country declared Trump and MAGA as dangerous. Their hope was to stigmatize Trump supporters so they would abandon him. Quite the opposite happened.
Even RINOs like Mitt Romney see the futility of claiming Trump will destroy the democracy. Hot Air reported,
The problem with dwelling on January 6 is that Americans are over it. They have processed the events that took place on that day and moved on with their lives. Mitt Romney is giving some friendly advice to the man he hopes will beat Trump in November.
But Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee and one of the most vocal GOP critics of Trump, recently panned Biden’s approach, telling the The New York Times that Biden’s democracy push is a “bust.”
“Jan. 6 will be four years old by the election. People have processed it, one way or another,” Romney told the newspaper via text message. “Biden needs fresh material, a new attack, rather than kicking a dead political horse.”
Romney, who voted to convict Trump for incitement of insurrection for his role on Jan. 6 and has warned against the former president’s potential return to the White House, has been critical of the Biden administration at times. But the senator was a key player in crafting the bipartisan infrastructure bill that has become one of Biden’s top domestic policy achievements and has expressed openness to backing the president’s reelection bid.
What Romney didn’t say
Mitt Romney not only recognizes that the public dismisses January 6, but so does he. He would never admit that he changed his mind on January 6, as he’s seen the tapes. Also, he’s had time to analyze the actions of the people who marched on the Capitol. So he knows they were anything but insurrectionists.
In all likelihood, Romney knows what happened behind the scenes. The collusion of the Democrats and the Department of Justice.
MAGA is alive and well. And that scares Democrats. Even Congressman Jim Clyburn, one of Biden’s staunchest supporters is concerned about MAGA. He said that Biden’s message can’t get through the “MAGA wall”.
During an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union”, Clyburn lamented:
“I have no problem with the Biden administration and what it has done,” he said. “My problem is that we have not been able to break through that MAGA wall in order to get to people exactly what this president has done.”
And that MAGA wall has a lot more bricks of Black people.
Polls indicate that Biden is losing the Black vote.
This poll welcomed Biden into the New Year.
Joe Biden heads into the election year showing alarming weakness among stalwarts of the Democratic base, with Donald Trump leading among Hispanic voters and young people. One in 5 Black voters now say they’ll support a third-party candidate in November.
Add this 20 percent to the percentage Trump would get on his own, and the alarms go off for Democrats:
The January NBC News poll showed 75% of Black registered voters saying they’d support Biden in 2024, while 16% said they’d back Trump, similar results to past NBC News surveys and other polls. That represents a dip among that group from 2020, when 85% of the Black voters surveyed said they backed Biden, 7% said they backed Trump and most of the remainder said they didn’t vote.
Even Clyburn recognizes the significance of these numbers. When he was asked about Biden’s support among Black voters, he sounded worried.
His comments were that he was not necessarily worried, but he remained “very concerned” over its impact. He’d better be.
And more than Black people are waking up. Mitt Romney and other anti-Trumpers need to wake up as well.
