The Democrats develop interesting strategies to protect their stooges. Given the incompetence of their candidates, developing alter egos constitutes a full-time job.
Consider all Democrats did to cover for Biden’s age and senility issues. They perpetrated a cover-up in plain sight, as Democrats and media pretended not to notice Biden’s slurred speech and penchant for falling. Ultimately, they were forced to dump the old man, and replace him with a younger, but equally moronic version of himself.
The good news is that Democrats don’t have that pesky age issue to deal with. But the bad part is they do have that pesky moron problem to deal with.
They’ve already started scrubbing Harris’ “border czar” role. And they are trying to scrub her history knowing full well that her ineptitude at the border is common knowledge.
With the “border czar” narrative failing, Democrat needed a new strategy; new rules of engagement.
Brad Slager wrote in Town Hall of how Democrats are switching tactics. They now want to get ahead of a potential Republican strategy.
The best of the “Republicans Pounce” narrative is that reporters believe this somehow distracts from the underlying details of what the Democrats are doing. Somehow the concept of Republicans noticing something is meant to negate the very thing they’ve noticed.
The Hill managed to hit a new low in this effort by not only commenting on what they are certain the Republicans will do (notify people that Kamala Harris has changed her position numerous times), but the effort here implies that it is somehow wrong for a political party to take political items and politically use them during a political campaign for political office.
GOP ready to pounce on Vice President Harris’s policy pivots https://t.co/nxDbLvUGnU

The idea that Republicans can’t bring up Harris’ record would pretty much cut them off at the knees. Particularly given that Democrats have already tried to neuter Harris as a DEI VP.
If Republicans are smart, they will ignore this blatant attempt to deflect. Because Harris is vulnerable on her DEI status and most of all her dismal record.
And that’s why Democrats need what has reliably been the ultimate strategy; cry racism.
USA Today is already attempting to paint Trump as a racist misogynist:
Donald Trump’s disdain for Black Americans was on full display Wednesday at the National Association of Black Journalists conference.
ABC News correspondent Rachel Scott, one of three moderators on the panel who questioned the former president, told the audience that PolitiFact would fact-check the interview in real time. The audience cheered. And the fact-checkers certainly earned their pay Wednesday in trying to keep up with all of Trump’s lies.
Scott addressed the elephant in the room with her first query for Trump: “A lot of people did not think it was appropriate for you to be here today. … Why should Black voters trust you?”
(…)
Scott challenged Trump about lies he has told about political opponents: “You have pushed false claims about some of your rivals from Nikki Haley to President Barack Obama, saying that they were not born in the United States, which is not true.”
She cited other outrageous attacks and false claims Trump has made, including his description of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who successfully prosecuted the Republican nominee on felony charges for falsifying business records, as an “animal.”
(…)
“Well, first of all, I don’t think I’ve ever been asked a question in such a horrible manner, a first question,” he answered. “You don’t even say hello. Who are you?”
I love Trump’s response. He went on offense and refused to succumb to the BS.
In another story, they claim that Harris “faces racial attacks“:
Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democrats’ presumptive presidential nominee, is facing attacks from some conservatives and their surrogates on her racial and cultural heritage, ethnic background and gender.
A list recently shared across social media, titled “Kamala Harris Facts,” contains wrong or missing-context claims about her background, including that she is “Not African American — Indian & Jamaican.” These attacks — similar to ones raised when she was named President Joe Biden’s running mate in 2020 — misrepresent Harris’ heritage.
Trust that this strategy will fail.
Candidates deserve scrutiny. Lord knows that no candidate has been vetted more thoroughly or been lied about more vigorously than President Trump. Nothing should be off limits to a person wanting to run the great country in the world.
