But one of the issues is that for the last year as people geared up for the 2024 race, the candidates were in the minds of Democrats one, one candidate, the Republican who would come out and offend them, and the other candidate, their candidate Joe Biden who would come out and they would sit on the edge of their seat and hope that he didn’t say something meandering or off message or addled.
That fear about their nominee speaking is gone. Now they have someone who, uh…I mean is, does project joy; and they’re not particularly subtle about how they want the message of this campaign to be joy, but she does project joy with her smile and her tone and her mean.
She not somebody that uh in a situation like this that’s going to cause Democrats that tension that we used to feel uh in the media and uh all Americans when the president would come out and speak.
What Tapper really said
First, Tapper admits that Joe Biden was a trainwreck for Democrats. And he also admitted that the media works in conjunction with the Democrats.

Tapper included the media with being on pins and needles when Biden spoke. Why? They should only report what Biden does, but not be invested in him.
As for Harris, I love his ringing endorsement of her. In explaining the fog that lifted once Democrats ousted Biden, Tapper said this of Harris:

They have someone who, uh? What descriptions were available to use that went untouched for the man who described her “mean”, pronounced “me-AN”? Tapper couldn’t think of a single kind word to describe Harris except “joy”. And he admitted that he was aware of their “not particularly subtle” joy message.
Apparently the Democrats’ strategy relies on the joy Harris will bring to the little boys and girls of America?
I suspect that once the dust settles from this PR campaign to polish the turd that is Kamala Harris’ life and record, things will go downhill fast for her campaign.
Try to calculate the energy it takes to remake a very unpopular VP into a presidential contender. Ads for actors, coaching and running lines. Next, the coordination of getting them to events.
And speaking of actors, what about the money? Money for influencers and the actors, and the transportation costs. In one series of ads, Team Harris offers to fly actors to location. For Democrats, the Harris campaign is just one big production.
But it won’t produce much joy for the Left in the end.
