Trump’s Hostile Takeover of CBS

Donald Trump didn’t just win an election—he bulldozed an entire ideological empire.

The war on the Deep State exposed just how far the tentacles of the left reached, wrapping themselves around institutions once considered trustworthy, like the media. But now, the king of counterpunching is back, and he’s taking a flamethrower to one of CBS’ crown jewels: 60 Minutes.

See, Trump has a keen eye for media BS, and when CBS’ flagship show edited an interview with Kamala Harris, his radar went off like a five-alarm fire. What they did wasn’t just an “edit.” It was a rewrite—one so blatant you’d think they were ghostwriting Harris’ memoirs.

Watch for yourself:

The original answer from Harris was an incoherent mess of platitudes and half-thoughts—classic Kamala. But the aired version? Suddenly, she was articulate and composed. A miracle! Or, more likely, the handiwork of a CBS production team trying to save her from herself.

Harris: The Queen of Verbal Nonsense

At this point, Harris’ “word salads” have become a tragicomic staple of American politics. Her campaign handlers knew this, which is why they had a standing policy: tightly controlled interviews only. She needed the questions in advance. She needed rehearsed answers. And if all else failed, she could default to her go-to line about growing up middle class with an Indian mother—regardless of the question. If asked about Ukraine, she’d say, “Well, I was raised in a middle-class family…” If asked about the economy? Same answer. If asked about aliens landing in New York? You get the picture.

Eventually, even the Harris campaign realized this was ridiculous and ditched the strategy, leaving Harris to be Harris—which, of course, doomed her campaign.

Enter 60 Minutes, the Cleanup Crew

Knowing that Harris was a disaster in long-form interviews, CBS took matters into their own hands. The issue wasn’t just a few “uhs” and “ums” they cleaned up. They edited her answer to make her sound competent. They did the Democrats a favor by shielding voters from the reality of a Harris presidency.

But this time, the media got caught red-handed.

The FCC Steps In

Trump caught it. Then he did what Trump does, which is to showcase the lie. Eventually, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) launched an investigation and have now formally requested the raw, unedited footage:

The commission requested “the full, unedited transcript and camera feeds” from the interview with Ms. Harris, which aired on 60 Minutes in October.

“We are working to comply with that inquiry as we are legally compelled to do,” a CBS News spokesman said on Friday. (Source)

Translation: CBS got busted. Badly.

And you can bet the raw footage looks nothing like the sanitized version America saw on TV. If they do hand it over, it’ll likely read like a ransom note—full of jump cuts, stitched-together phrases, and more patchwork than Frankenstein’s monster.

Why Edit Harris in the First Place?

Let’s be clear: candidates should be judged on their actual words, not the media’s curated version of them. Even if Harris had been blindsided by the question (which she wasn’t—this was a major global issue at the time), a vice president should be able to articulate a coherent response. The fact that CBS thought she needed a PR assist tells you everything about their priorities.

This wasn’t journalism. It was election interference.

Trump’s Lawsuit: The Knockout Punch

Trump understands the game, and he’s playing for keeps. His lawsuit against CBS is more than just a legal maneuver—it’s a warning shot to the entire media establishment. For years, they’ve manipulated the news, buried stories, and protected Democrats at all costs. But this time, they were too sloppy, and now, they’re scrambling to cover their tracks.

Meanwhile, Trump’s new Rapid Response team is working around the clock to call out media lies in real time. No more waiting for “fact-checkers” to do their slow-walking damage control—this is a full-court press.

CBS should be worried. They got away with this nonsense in 2020. But 2024 changed the playing field. And if Trump has his way, the leftist media will soon realize they don’t own the narrative anymore—he does.
