CRUEL: White Kid in Spelling Bee asked to spell N-word
This video looks like something that came from a Dave Chappelle skit.
Watch as this white kid had his “brown underwear” moment, when he’s asked to spell a word that he dare not say.
You how these contest work? You SAY the word, then spell it. Then you SAY it again.
I have to tell you, this made me laugh my butt off. This poor kid is doing all he can to NOT have to spell this word.
Worse yet, the woman asks him repeatedly to say the word again, “…so the judges can hear.”
Try to imagine how you would feel put in this situation! I would ask, “Is this a JOKE!?” Negus, PLEASE!
How many of you thought he was going to actually spell the n-word?
Remember this story from 1999 where a white staffer was fired for using the word “niggardly”?
As the Washington Post wrote:
D.C. Mayor Anthony A. Williams said yesterday that he will rehire a former top aide who resigned last month because some city employees were offended that the aide used the word “niggardly” in describing how he would have to manage a fund’s tight budget.
Williams, whose quick acceptance of David Howard’s resignation last month led to a national debate over racial sensitivity and political correctness, indicated in a statement yesterday that he had made a mistake and “acted too hastily” in allowing Howard to resign as head of the city’s constituent services office.
The mayor said that an internal review had “confirmed for me that Mr. Howard did use the word ‘niggardly,’ but did not use a racial epithet” during a Jan. 15 discussion with two employees of the Office of the Public Advocate. “Niggardly” means miserly and has no racial connotation.
Williams said that one of the employees, identified by Howard as Marshall Brown, interpreted Howard’s remark as a racial slur. Brown has declined to comment on the incident.
I bet Brown declined to comment. I wrote of the story at the time,
Remember that use of the race card for Liberals works two-dimensionally. It works to intimidate non-Black Conservatives to be politically correct at all times. Example? Recall when David Howard used the term “niggardly” in explaining stinginess of a bill to two Black staffers, and he was fired. Fired because those two Black staffers were too ignorant to know what the word meant. Why don’t you fire the janitorial staff for using “Spic and Span”, or fire the admins when they discuss the TV show Nip-Tuck?
The derogatory references I made applied to Mexicans and Japanese, if you choose to think that.
The video above is obviously old, and goes to show how far back racial sensitivity training began. From the 70s on, I have seen the full court press from the Left on controlling the lexicon.
You can bet that no spelling bee dare ask a kid to spell the word “negus” in today’s society. By the way, his next word was “Caracas”. He lost, because he spelled CRACKERS!
